Wingless Dreams

by Lugh

Living in the Shadows
No place left to go
Alone
Unknown
Putting on a show
Flying on wingless dreams
Dancing in the sun
Breathing deep water
Always on the run

Living in the Shadows
No place left to think
Segragated
Subjugated
Teetering on the brink
Condemned to the fringe
Straddling the line
Nothing wrong here
Everything's just fine

Living in the Shadows
No place left to run
Marginalized
Institutionalized
Hidden from the sun
Aphonic screams echoing
In a land of light
Heard by no one, nothing
Lost to the night

Living in the Shadows
No place left to hide
Sanitized
Dehumanized
Turned off inside
Emotionless - thought less
Self-awareness shred
Kneeling in the corner
So much unsaid

Living in the Shadows
No place left to dance
Antagonized
Ostracized
Wedding fate to chance
Waltzing around the dreamscape
Life's a masquerade
Leaving bloody footprints
Feeling soul-betrayed

Living in the Shadows
No place left to feel
Vicarious
Nefarious
Wondering what is real
Mistaken idenitity
In a land of dreams
Sunlight at midnight
Nothing is as it seems

Living in the Shadows
No place left to cry
Depressed
Over-stressed
Just want to die
Bound up - tied down
Beaten - purple and red
Lost - lonely - forgotten
Better off dead

Living in the Shadows
No place left to dream
Nullified
Transmorgified
Nothing left to redeem
Lost to a world
To family, to friends
In a psychedelic landscape
Made of  psychotropic portends

Living in the Shadows
No place left to die
Cruicified
Exemplified
No longer me, myself, or I
Hot, sticky, dripping
Vital fluids pour
Crimson and ivory puddles
Congealing on the floor

Living in the Shadows
No place left to breathe
Inanimated
Cremated
No longer here to deceive
Red skies at noon
Black skies at night
Green skies underwater
Wingless dreams take flight
