    Max Wilson, a peculiar 14-year boy with a love for Basketball and Classical music has chosen a pen-pal from a candidate list for English class. With the youngster's grades slipping, and a need to get ahead Max decides to take the last resort. After sending the first letter, the boy waits nervously for his anonymous sender, who appears to be another boy, and is within the same building as Max. Over three months, the teenagers grow a bond through communication, with the other boy helping Max come out to his family, and to Max's amazement, he's fallen for an unknown boy who sounds perfect in every way according to their personal correspondences.

Innocent and trusting, he confides his sorrow to the tall stranger who promises him relief and a future. He becomes one with the night, vampire - or kindred in the language of the undead, but finds that love is still attainable, still distracting, and still able to entice and enthrall his spirit. However, the strings of being human are not lost when one is turned, instead they often intensify, leaving our young friend lost within the dreams and wishes of the young.

    My prompt was - A newly-made vampire (verb) deep forest on a mountain no one dares enter (conjunction/pairing word) the cat won't move.

    Teddy loves nothing more than his toy store, of course, it's all he has and what it once meant is starting to fade. It isn't until a huge mishap with an old lady looking for a random pink elephant that he realizes how crazy his life has gotten. The same mishap brings a sexy new stranger - Nick - into his life. Teddy can't say he's unhappy with meeting the beautiful man.
    With Christmas right around the corner, Teddy has to find a way to get his spirits up and find the joy in what he loves again, and maybe - just maybe - figure out why the mysterious Nick keeps coming back to see him and why such magical things happen when he's around.
