Short stories are definitely not my strong suit, and this attempt soon became a continuous story inspired by the challenge of First Line prompts.

He longs for friends and for a romantic relationship, especially while creating Valentine cards. The chance encounter with a handsome Dane and his young son pitches the shy innocent cardmaker headlong into love and changes everything.

After a huge row between his twin brother and their father, Russell’s mother sends him off to stay with her cousin in Europe, with no explanation. Reluctantly, the shy nineteen-year-old faces the issues which have kept him in his brother’s shadow for the past five years.
