Author Guess Who #21 - Reveal!

Ah, the fourth Thursday of the month. We all know what that means, right? It's time for the Author Guess Who reveal! Did y'all have any guesses as to who the mystery author could be? If not, time to take another look at the interview...   > > > HERE < < < So, we have someone who is a fan of both Alan Alda and Jerry Seinfeld, has two Bachelor degrees, and is allergic to dogs. March CSR Discussion Day: Running Far Afield by Libby Drew

This month's CSR author was Libby Drew, an author who has been a Signature Author on GA for a very long time, sharing her work with readers here for our enjoyment. Did you like reading Running Far Afield? Share your thoughts below! But first... the interview! Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point? I make the bed strictly so the dogs won’t get their muddy paws on my clean sheets. If I’m in a hurry, I just throw a blanket over the whole thing a

Ho hum First day of spring came and we got snow snow snow 😛 Definitely there are those of you out their that are giggling like skewl gurls on the playground  Well I hope your comeuppance comes soon . So was looking for a place that I could find some more gay themed movies than Prime and Nexflix and then came across a free streaming service called Tubi which I believe is available in Canada and the US of A. Why April?

Why did I choose April to feature the poetry anthology?  I thought it would be a perfect way to feature our site poets during National Poetry Month!  April is the month to celebrate all things poetry; so read, write, and if you're daring, participate in the NaPoWriMo writing challenge!  NaPoWriMo stands for National Poetry Writing Month. It's the sibling to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November.  So what is this challenge I speak of?  Simple.  Write one poem per day (30 total) dur

Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 10 - Mar. 16)

3 days to spring 🌻 🐦I found out it is the 19th this year instead of the normal 20th due to being a leap year. Makes sense. So what are you planning for the Spring Solstice or if you want to be correct, the Spring Equinox? I was thinking of going outside striping down to some shorts, last year when I said naked, some of you didn't like the idea of that , and frolicking in the fields. Wait, although tomorrow will be a record breaking 18 C (64.4 F), by Monday we go back down to under -10

A thousand apologies for being a little late for this month's Author Guess Who! But don't worry, it's here.  Y'all know the drill, and if you're new, the game is simple. Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 3 - Mar. 9)

I had this big long speech from upon my soapbox and Valkyrie so rudely pulled it out from under me and now I have road rash on my ass. Oh, what a great segue to the Poetry Anthology .  Get it? Rash...Ass. Well, maybe they don't totally rhyme  Also I don't want to belittle the great poets out there either. Now I do look forward to the many experienced to blossoming poets, even if you don't see yourself as one yet, getting an entry in! Down below on the Thursday blog, Val actually gets down t

Calling All Poets!

There's still time to get some poems written for the 2024 Poetry Anthology - Seasons!  We're already seeing some submissions come in, so let's make this a great anthology!  We need participation for these anthologies to continue, so even if you're new to the art of poetry, give it a try and see where it takes you.  A great starting point is checking out @AC Benus's prompts in the Poetry Forum.   https://gayauthors.org/forums/forum/369-poetry/   Guidelines can be found here:

Ask An Author 3.0 #37

Do you know how tempting it was to copy and paste the intro to this article? The weather has been absolutely insane. California is buried in snow, and the high today here in Banjoland was 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This is wild! But you're not here to talk about the weather. What was that Oscar Wilde quote? "Conversation about the weather is the last refuge of the unimaginative."  I would also say you're not here to read quotes, but this is an Ask An Author interview, so I suppose you could quo

March CSR Feature: Running Far Afield by Libby Drew

This month is the beginning of the spring Sports season at high school (ask me how I know, track mom here!). How many of you remember playing sports in high school? Man, I was a disaster in softball, hence my my kids did/do track, lol! So I thought I'd share a story to bring back the nostalgia of the season for myself, and others, with Libby Drew's story Running Far Afield.  Running Far Afield by @Libby Drew Length: 15,560 Description: Aaron thought nothing would be different

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 25 - Mar. 2)

So what is that saying? February Showers brings March dumps of snow?   After a tropical February around here, it stated snowing on Thursday night, and it snowed, and snowed and it snowed I'm sure we are over a foot but you know what, a foot here is multiple feet in the mountains to the West. Without this bump up in the low snowfall in the Rockies, we would and may still be in a drought for the summer. So if any of you are going to tell me about your bulbs starting to shoot up, maybe planni

Server Update and Story Archive Updates

Gosh, it's been busy around here lately.  We have done a number of updates in the background and some front facing.  First up, if you didn't click on the announcement banner, Gay Authors has switched from our own dedicated server to our own cloud dedicated server.  From a technical standpoint, that means we abstracted one layer giving us future flexibility and ease of upgrades. This also got us off a server we could no longer upgrade who's Operating System was going unsupported in June.  As

February CSR Discussion Day: The Weakest Link: Teenage Triumphs Edition by AusGlitterati

Did you catch this month's CSR Feature by @AusGlitterati? The Weakest Link: Teenage Triumphs Edition & the follow-up story are both available for you to enjoy, if you haven't already, but make sure you read this interview first.  Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla all the way! I always have to wonder why vanilla gets a bad rep as the boring or basic flavour. Vanilla is actually lit, and it deserves more respect on its name - chocolate is the basic flavour. That's the hill I will die on. 😁

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 18 - Feb. 24)

I'm giddy Now it is up to you to figure out why I'm so giddy   So did you all notice that next week is a 1in every 4 years occurrence, a Leap Year? It seems to me like I don't notice as much, ever since the Winter Olympics were moved from the Leap Year's to two years later and the Summer Olympics stayed on the Leap Year. I guess for the non sports lovers out there, you're saying WTF  If you are a sports follower, I imagine you are more interested in the Summer Olympics than the Winter

Author Guess Who #20 - Reveal!

Holy smokes! I mean literally. Okay, not really, but use your imaginations for a moment. A dark theater stage. The crimson curtains slowly open to fog creeping out into the audience. A lone spotlight shines upon a mysterious silhouette. Who could it be? What is their purpose? Will they entertain or shock us?  For those who fell asleep, it's the fourth Thursday of the month, which means it's time for the Author Guess Who reveal! If you missed out on the interview, you can read it right...
