Featured Story: Famous Last

Sorry all, a bit behind today, so I'm just gonna give you today's review! Famous Last by lomax61 Reviewer: Talo Segura Status: Complete Word Count: 92,849 This book, published in November 2020 is set in contemporary Britain during the pandemic, something which the author handles well. It has a very British tone with expressions such as, "Freezing his bollocks off..." and, yes it's the winter, the story takes place over a few months leading up to Christmas and the New Year.

June Classic Author Feature: Yankee by The Zot

June is Pride month! We often see stories of coming out or teenage coming of age stories that are very popular during this month. They are read as inspiration, a reminder, a hope... whatever the reason, they exist because we still struggle this battle. So how about a Classic to remember?  Length: 80,483 Description: Justin's a fish out of water no matter where he goes, and never more so than when this Boston kid has to move to rural Georgia. Sometimes things don't work out the wa

Author Guess Who #14

Well well well, it's that time again. I hope you all have your thinking caps on, cause I'm ready to see if anyone can guess the author this month!  I keep hoping that eventually one of these will stump members, but it never happens. *sigh* Oh well, we'll keep trying! What is one thing that most GA members might not know about you? Although I sold off most of the collection a few years ago, I once had over 3,000 Hard Rock lapel pins. There are 300 odd ones left on display at my place.

Featured Story: Desert Air

Hard to believe it's already March!  Then again, my days get all mixed up since we don't do a whole lot!  Anyway, hope you all enjoy this review from our review team!   Desert Air by quokka Reviewer: chris191070 Status: Complete Word Count: 134,256 Well if we fancy an escape from the cold weather that many of us are suffering from, what better than a visit to Perth, Western Australia. We meet Jexon Kendrick a veterinary student wh

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 28 - Mar. 6)

We seem to be well on our way to April. Has spring sprung in your neck of the woods? Are the bees buzzing, the birds chirping, and the flowers growing up? Well I want everyone to take note that we are only about 5 weeks from April 1st. So to get everyone  having some fun this year, as last year I think most of us were shell shocked, let's plan a really good April Fools Joke for this year. If you have a good idea share it with everyone so if anyone is drawing blank, they can maybe borrow the idea

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 14 - Feb. 20)

How was your Valentines Day?  I'll be honest, I didn't even know it really happened  The advertising and hoopla seemed to be almost non existent this year, well to me it was. I did hear one couple I know went out for dinner yet still had over a two hour wait! Oh well, for those dead set Valentiners if you missed it I'm sure it will be back next year bigger and better. I know that all over the world there is different and crippling weather all the time. I would be remiss if I do not mention

February Classic Author Feature: Heritage Heretic by Lugh

February means love, romance, sex... um, the unintended consequences of that sometimes? Okay, I admit I love stories that include the educational field since I work in it and like to see different authors take on the world I live in. This story, on the surface, seems like a simple day in the life of a couple of HS seniors...  Length: 4,348 Description: 2010 Spring Anthology Michael Thomas George, known as Trey by his friends, has to participate in his high school’s annual spring

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 31 - Feb. 7)

Well...  What a day today has been. I couldn't avoid a lot of stuff anymore so I had to go out in the freezing weather and get a bunch of stuffs done. Left the house at 8:00 and didn't get home to 3:30 😮 This is the weekend, aren't we supposed to relax and sleep in and take it easy?  So I'm curious, as after working 26 years in stores in retail, I know I didn't like when I heard people who talked about their Monday to Friday jobs. Where some of us in retail worked any day of the week.

Well. It's time for another story review, this tile from our newest review team member, @Talo Segura. Enjoy! The Transporters by Israfil Reviewer: Talo Segura Status: Complete Word Count: 16,570 I might have said that you ought to know the forgotten realms of Dungeons and Dragons, but you don't. It was the gnolls who made me go and look it up. As might be appropriate to this genre of story, a portal opened into a fantastic world. I should point out this story does not have a

Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 7 - Mar. 13)

First off, a PSA on behalf of the World Time Federation (WTF)  If you live in any of the regions that observes Daylight Savings, it kicked in last night. So if you are late to everything today, don't say I didn't warn ya Well, I'm shocked, shocked I say. I looked out my window today and there was a tiny little white bunny rabbit frolicking around the courtyard. I honestly believe it was the Easter Bunny's scout checking out places for when the big guy (or gal) comes in a few weeks to leave

March Classic Author Feature: Altimexis' The Cajun Asian

Well, the title of this story is quite deceiving... and exactly describes it at the same time. I will say it drew me in and made me want to know more. Was it describing a character? The setting? Something else...? WHAT or WHO is the Cajun Asian? Hopefully this feature will help intrigue you too.  Length: 24,414 Description: Seth and Asher are two boys growing up on New York's Lower East Side. Nearly finished with their first year at Stuyvesant, one of New York's elite public spec
