Mom's Condition Update

Yup, definately need the two thumbs up. They moved my Mom out of ICU this evening. :great:

She still has her central line, the chest tube, and is catheterized. Her vitals are excellent. BP 124/77 HR 71 O2 Sat 100%. We had her out of her bed this afternoon prior to moving her out of ICU. With some help she was walking to the nurses station (it was but maybe 10 feet or so) and back, but to a recliner instead of bed. We kept her there until after dinner (we at together as a family-kinda crowded, but wonderful) and then moved her back into the bed and transferred her. Moving her from ICU must of tuckered her out because when I left she was starting to doze off. (Is there a sleeping smiley that I just can't find? hehe)

 

So, things are looking up. Hopefully we'll have her home for Christmas. That's the plan anyway. Mom and I all ready started planning the menu, hehe, she said I was cooking this year after the meal she had this evening. Again, thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers.

 

I'm off to bed. My Dad and I are swapping shifts since it's cold now in the morning and he's having a bit of trouble getting around. That and the ice on the road. He has to come down a mountain to get to the hospital. It's pretty much flat for me to get there. Thanks again everyone!

That is GREAT that she made it out of the ICU! :2thumbs: Pressor-requiring hemodynamic shock is generally an extremely grave occurrence. Treasure all the time in this reprieve.

 

Fried chicken, green beans with bacon, honey-glazed carrots, homemade rolls & muffins, vanilla pudding (with whole eggs & cream, no doubt!)....mmMMMMMMMMMMMM! :worship:

Yup.... FRESH whole eggzies, REAL FRESH cream (it's nice to have a friend that has a farm and I love to can fresh veggies and fruits!), vanilla BEANS (not extract), FRESH home-canned green beans (with FARM-fresh baccon), shoot, everything was from the farm actually, now that I think about it... except for the vanilla beans, flour & yeast. Hmmmm... and yes it was yummy. :2thumbs:

 

For breakfast (I'm on my way out the door to deliver): Home-made butter-milk bisquits, sausage-gravy, scambled eggs, butter-milk pancakes, cooked apples, grits. I have enough for the nurses in ICU, and on the floor where Mom is currently at. I've been up since 4:00AM cooking, and I'm just bouncing off the walls and very very happy!

That's great news, Jim. What a wonderful Christmas present, for your Mom to be home.
