It looks like this will be the last weekly update¬†before¬†Christmas ūüéÖ. So what constitutes a white Christmas you ask?¬†In Canada it is 2 cm (.79 inch)¬†of snow on the ground at 7 AM on Christmas Day, the US is 2.5 cm (1 inch)¬†and the UK it is one snowflake observed falling anywhere in the UK :o. Obviously there is parts of the world that won't see or ever see a white Christmas, mainly most areas of the Southern Hemisphere. I'm also thinking about our friends in Australia that are fighting sever fires across a lot of New South Wales :(¬†.

No matter if it is a white Christmas or not in your neck of the woods, on behalf of myself and all the staff here at GA, we wish you in the spirit of season, a Very Merry Christmas!! Even if you don't celebrate know that this means we are wishing you well and hope that you get the opportunity to have some great times between now and the New Year with family, friends, and everyone that makes our lives so rich every day of the year.

Now question for you all, are you expecting a white Christmas? Me, the forecast is up in the air. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow, but we've had rain and fog the past two days. Yet an hour West, they are in the midst of getting 1 m (39.37 inches) in 24 hours ūüėģ¬†

So onto the blog this week, shall we?

Monday, Cia brought us the December Classic Author Feature.

Wednesday Cia was back again with the Classic Author Feature Excerpt.

Thursday saw Renee wrapping up the fall Anthology, and not too early, as Saturday is the last day of fall in the North, beginning of the summer in the South.

Myr then popped in on Friday with some holiday joy in his year in review for everyone here at GA! I'm so proud to be a part of the world's premier gay literature site which is really made by all of you. Poets, Authors, Editors, Beta Readers, and all the Readers are what make it what it is .

So, how did we do on the goals on this week before the holidays?

Even though we're above average for snowfall so far this season, we're supposed to have above average temps over the next few days.  Enough to melt the snow on the ground, so it will be a green Christmas here.

We had snow earlier in December, but it melted and then turned into ice. Tomorrow and Christmas Eve we're getting rain and sleet, and on Christmas Day we're getting freezing temperatures again and no precipitation, that will last until New Year's at least, so we'll have a lovely, icy, dangerous Christmas time here. Nothing like a little excitement when you leave the house. :D

I hope everyone has had a great week this past week. Just a quick reminder that you only have a little over a month left to get your April Fool's Day short stories in if you want to be a part of the contest. Make sure to read through the guidelines if you're planning to participate! Also, don't forget to join us for the CSR Discussion day of The Pledge by Mikiesboy. It's only about 10,000 words, so if you haven't already read it, you still have time! Now, lets see what you might have missed this week.

We started out our week with Aditus' wonderful review of Joined by Blood by Renee Stevens (hehe). I'm a little biased when it comes to this story, but other readers sure seemed to have enjoyed it. It's part of GA Premium, so maybe Aditus' review is the little push you were looking for to purchase a premium subscription. Check out the review, and feel free to jump into the discussion!

Myr took Tuesday over this week to discuss another new aspect of the upcoming site update. According to the post, members will be able to set their own activity streams based on their own guidelines. Want to find out more about this new feature? Check out Myr's blog post.

Wednesday was a bit of a writing tip with Cia's popular Grammar Rodeo feature. We're up to number ten and this one was all about sentence structure. If you find yourself re-reading what you wrote and thinking something sounds off, then maybe this is the perfect post for you.

We ended the week with a new set of weekly prompts for you to try your hand at. There were a lot of responses to the previous weeks prompts and so there are a lot of snippets that you can look over. Maybe you'll find one that will lead you to a new favorite author.

I've only gotten a handful of entries so far, but there is still time to get your story in for a chance to win Premium Content. Also, don't forget not to tell anyone which story is yours. And another reminder, join us tomorrow for the CSR Discussion Day on Myr's Harry Potter Fan-Fic.

And to end the week, we offered a couple of new prompts for you to try out and showcased a couple of last weeks prompt responses. A huge thank you to Cia for posting the prompts when I was out of town and snowed in on Friday.

Oops! Sorry guys, the weekly wrap up went up before I finished it. Now, a couple of quick things before we get to this week's wrap up. During the next week, there's going to be a lot going on behind the scenes, and all of our regular site blog posts are going to be suspended until after the site upgrade. This will leave multiple opportunities for us to share information if necessary.

On another front, the April Fool's Day Short Story Contest is now available for you to read. Don't forget to read them all and get your vote in to Reader1810 by the 25th. You can see a list of all the stories in yesterday's blog.

March C S R Feature: Crave By Litlover
This month's CSR book is Crave by Litlover. It's a novel length story, so get to reading soon so that you will be ready for the discussion day on March 27th.

      Site Software Update Coming Soon
We've already touched on this a bit up above, but Myr joined us on Tuesday to let us know when the site upgrade will be happening and what you can expect during that time. Please read this so that you aren't surprised and remember that the next couple of weeks is going to be hectic and patience will get you further than demands.

      Author Promo: Valkyrie
We did an author promo for Valkyrie this week where she chose three of her stories and shared some insight on how they came to be, what she liked about writing them, and something about the story that can't be garnered by reading the description. Check it out, and if you'd like to see some of your GA stories featured in a future promo, send me a PM.

      Prompts #564 & #565
If you need a little inspiration to get to writing, then you should check out the two new prompts. Don't forget to share your prompt responses in the appropriate thread so that it might just be featured with next week's prompts!
