stuff that I guess would be classical, but not old classical

I have no clue what you mean by that. Renaissance music from the '40s? Madonna's motets? Barry Manilow sings Rachmaninoff?

And your list of examples doesn't help me. I don't place any of them by name, and Batman Begins is one of my favorite movies.

But, speaking of Rachmaninoff, I'm going to recommend that you listen to his "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini."

It may have nothing to do with your question, but you might enjoy it anyway.

Well, you never know. I saw a bit of the Grammys a few years back. They said that Pavorati was supposed to sing a Puccini aria, but since he was sick, Aretha Franklin would fill in at the last minute, singing the same aria.

Or it was something like that. Or maybe I fell asleep in front of the TV and dreamed that.

Anyway, Manilow did have a song that incorporated a Chopin prelude. (From my Googling, it appears that the song is called "Could It Be Magic.")
