Three years after Carlos concluded the CJ story, he returns with this new story which starts to fill in the gaps.

We follow CJ, Ozzie and Liebe as CJ takes a job at the US Embassy in Mexico, he's still fairly new to his job, as he only been graduated from Georgetown for just over a year.

His boss Northam immediately takes a dislike to CJ, because of his life outside the Embassy, where he his helpful in some setting up some major projects both in Mexico and USA. Of course the Ambassador takes an instant liking to CJ.

We meet a lot of familiar faces in this story and a few new characters. As with all CJ stories there are plenty of holidays, which are well described.

There is plenty of drama, happiness, sadness and a dramatic conclusion to this story. I look forward to the return of CJ, Owen, Liebe and family and friends.

Damn! Second time I'm surprised this month. Not sure at my age that's a good thing. Thank you for the review @chris191070

CDMX was my return to novel-length works starring CJ, Owen, and their daughter. After a couple of years of shorter stories, mostly featuring secondary characters, it was fun to spend so much time with the series' MCs. The break was good for my writing. I introduced CJ as an abandoned 15-year-old and it was a pleasure to write him as an "old" married man of 24, with a daughter and a full-time job.

Those who've read any other stories starring him had to notice I matured him a bit once I had them in Mexico. What didn't change is he's a foul-mouthed, smart ass with a heart of gold who puts his family first.

If you do tackle CDMX, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

To be honest, Carlos, I was a bit unsure of a return to CJ. Reading about Richie becoming Ritch had been such a great story.  Nevertheless, as a complete story CDMX is another 5***** read.  I totally agree with what my fellow Mancunian says. Your writing is so evocative and the tale was full of action and emotions.
Has escrito una historia increíble, don Carlos.  ¡Muy bien!

@Gary L

Gracias, mi amigo.

I knew I had to return to CJ because what happened in Mexico was important to his and Owen's future. But I'm glad I took a break and wrote the spinoffs and spinins. They allowed me to recharge my batteries and come up with new cliffhangers  exiting endings. I'm doing it again for the next few months. Keep an eye out for a bunch of short stories.
