Reefer ships, short for refrigerated shipping, are designed for taking perishable cargos that require controlled temperatures over oceanic distances.

The first reefer ship route was between New Orleans, LA and a port on Matagorda Island, Texas in 1869.

Which I don't eat. I don't like overripe bananas in any form.

I also don't like overripe bananas, and banana cake is also on my list of don't likes.  I like almost-ripe bananas and some desserts like Banoffee pie with lots of whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings on top.

They're great for making banana bread.  I guess that's what @raven1 was referring to when he mentioned banana cakes.

I actually meant both @Bill W. Here in Thailand, frosted banana cake, banana muffins, banana bread, and many more edibles (maybe not for DocPaladin), like candies are popular.  Green bananas are a staple of many savory recipes also.

I like bananas fine when they are firm.

I had a friend who only liked them mushy. He would go places and buy them before they threw them out. He said if fruit flies were after them, they were perfect.

With inflation these days, and especially on perishable basic items, I always book an appt with my loans officer at the bank to take out another personal loan before heading to the grocery store

At least you don't need to haul the money in a wheelbarrow... yet.
