Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 17 - Nov. 23)

Steve has climbed into his cave and don't wake him up until the end of April. I think it it is @Slytherin's turn to stay awake this winter :P

That bear just happens to be the colour of outdoors.

We got dumped on the past week. No road lanes, no sidewalks, no nothing. All buried in snow. It is beautiful if you don't need to go out into it :) Also, the temperature dropped into the minus celsius without windchill :P Winter is here, I hereby declare. May you all share the wonder of it

I'm in a bit of a predicament. I signed up for the Prompt Contest, and just a reminder that you have less than a week to get them in. Make sure you check out the link below to get all the information. Now some of you can put out a prompt like in a few hours. I've been going for over a week now, and over 5,000 words and I'm not even half way to my final that I have pictured. I don't know how you all do it. I'm right now in the stuck category where I don't know if I can finish. Also, who wants to read a 5-10,000 word prompt :P These are the things that swirl around in my head, along with all the air, when I get like this. Help? :o Any ghost writers out there?

Now what happened this past week   Something really, really, really big happened on Thursday! Keep reading down to see the big news on that day ;)

Monday, I was busy. I had to change my signature at the bottom of my profile as we had a new Signature Author introduced:

Myr was back in the saddle again on Tuesday, but I think it was on a mustang :o He gave us the top read stories for every tag for the past 6 months:

Wednesday was a nice teaser. A teaser in the form of excerpt on why to read this month's Signature Author's story:

Thursday, was that big news that I was talking about! Check out our newest Signature Author:

Friday, speaking of Signatures this week ;) Aditus popped in with a couple new Prompts:

Well I don't think Bird is a Word of the Word of the Day, but maybe this will get you into mood :P

nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon, sodium, magnesium, aluminium

Stories don't need to be long to be good. Hemingway's Hills Like White Elephants is only 1,500 words and Shirley Jackson's The Lottery is 3,000 words.

Certainly I agree with that.  I have read a lot of flash fiction (normally 1,000 words or less) that are excellent.  Some, however, can't be chopped or edited without losing much of the story.
