Medellín is complete and ready to start posting as soon as Swing for the Fences wraps. It’s very different from SFTF—darker, sharper—and, honestly, the piece I’m proudest of so far. If Nick’s “flawed narrator” energy sometimes tests your patience, wait until you meet Hunter. He’s… a challenge. There are 30 chapters, each 2–3x longer than SFTF’s, so I’m leaning toward a weekly release cadence (that may flex depending on where I am with the SFTF sequel). Research was easy for this one—I’ve lived in Medellín for 7+ years—so think of it as a love letter to the city… with teeth.
Back-cover–style blurb:
Medellín is a coming-of-age story about love, danger, and self-discovery. When sixteen-year-old Hunter moves to Colombia, he falls for Miguel—then learns Miguel’s father is a powerful cartel boss. Pulled into a world of secrets and betrayal, Hunter must choose between protecting the boy he loves and doing what’s right. Set against the City of Eternal Spring, it’s a tense, emotional ride about identity, resilience, and the ways love can both heal and transform.
Swing for the Fences Status (and the Sequel!)
Chapter 28 of Swing for the Fences went live 9/20/25, which means we’re well past halfway. Meanwhile, serious progress on the sequel—Swing for the Fences: Stealing Home:
- Series Bible ✅
- Style Guide ✅
- Character sketches (returning + new) ✅
- Detailed chapter outline: ✅
Right now, the plan is for 40 chapters (a bit longer per chapter than Book 1, likely similar total word count). If that holds, I’ll probably return to twice-weekly posts—we’ll see. Once the outline is locked, Chapter 1 kicks off. I write fast when the roadmap is tight; it’s the edits/revisions that take their sweet time. I’m excited about some new, fun ideas for Stealing Home and quietly hopeful it might even top the original (readers can be fickle—I say that as one!).

Thanks, as always, for reading, commenting, rating, and generally keeping me motivated. You’re the reason these stories make it to the finish line.
UPDATE (9/27/2025): The detailed chapter outline is now completed, and I have already finished Scene1 of Chapter 1, and hope to get quite a bit of writing done this weekend, so we're now well underway! Also, I found that I couldn't fit all of my ideas into 40 chapters, so the sequel has been expanded to 45 chapters, with the majority of the chapters expected to be longer than in Book 1. You'll see all your favorite characters, plus a whole bunch of new ones as Nick's friendship group extends, and he needs his friends now more than ever!
