Greetings everyone....

I know it's been a while and for that I apologize. So much has happened since my last entry. I think the following will explain...

Mom has been in and out of the hospital several times (7 total). When she came home this time, she came home with HospiceCare. Basically, that translates to the doctors believe she only has about 6 months to live. We've been battling congestive heart failure, two heart attacks, alzheimer's, her red blood cell count dropping (and the doctor's can't figure out why...) and now she's having seizures (and again, the doctor's can't figure out why). Her appetite is practically non-existant, she doesn't drink fluids like she used to... she's going downhill very rapidly. (deep heavy sigh)

And then there's my Dad's health. He was diagnosed with asbestosis 5 years ago. He recently had a chest x-ray since they thought he may have pneumonia, and that was followed by a cat scan of his chest to verify the findings on the x-ray. Well, the "cluster" of lung tissue damaged by the asbestosis hasn't grown, changed shape, etc (and that's a good thing), but at the lower edge of the cat scan, there was a "mass of unknown origin" on his right kidney. He had an ultrasound Thursday on his right kidney and it didn't look to good. They suspect the big "C", yup, cancer. At least that's what the report says from the ultrasound. He has an appointment with a urologist Monday who I'm sure will want further testing.

So, I'm not sure where things will go from here. Basically, I'm going to use this blog to basically vent my frustrations, the triumphs, etc.
