Coming Undone

Hi Everyone

With the advent of 2001 days since the New York disaster and still no Osama I found this joke that I thought was funny.

UKNOWN LETTER FROM OBL TO BUSH

After numerous rounds of "We don't know if Osama is still alive," Osama

himself decided to send George Bush a letter in his own handwriting to

let him know he was still in the game. Bush opened the letter and it

appeared to contain a single line of coded message:

*370HSSV-0773H*

Bush was baffled, so he emailed it to Condi Rice. Condi and her aides

had no clue either, so they sent it to the FBI. No one could solve it

at the FBI so it went to the CIA, then to the NSA.

With no clue as to its meaning, they eventually asked Britain 's MI-6

for help. Within a minute MI-6 cabled the White House with this reply:

"Tell the President he's holding the message upside down."

:lmao:

Till later

I'm Coming

Bob let me try to explain this.

The joke is really about the person or presons charged with finding, apprehending, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

If said perpetrators are unknown and can't be found well that's one thing. But when the major figures are known and in the public eye i.e. video tapes appearing from time to time with taunting messages, and after more than five years they still haven't been apprehended, then the person or persons charged with the job are now open to ridicule. This is especially true when I, John Q. Public, do not have the power to delegate the task to someone more competent. I, John Q. Public, am granted further leeway when said person or persons have gone off on a tangent that will lead further from the goal rather than closer. To go one step more, when the said tangent causes needless and copious amounts of death and destruction and the powers that be, still hold fast to incompetent beliefs, then yes I feel I have the right to ridicule that person or persons.

To give another example, there is a guy on the US FBI most wanted list named Whitey Bulger. This guy was a notorious gangster/murder. He's been on the run for, I don't know, twenty years or more. About every six months an article appears in the news media about another sighting of Whitey Bulger. I mean this guy has been seen in more places than Elvis and still remains at large. This puts the FBI in the joke category.

BTW Osama Bin Ladin is not on the FBI's "Most Wanted List" so I'll leave them alone on this one.

Eric

To remember a tragedy so it's not repeated is in my opinion a good thing, but to keep the hatred alive gnaws at ones soul. Do we really need another hundred years war?

Do you really think it's that easy to find this guy, yes we should of never let up on him still, he won't be captured alive, he will be died before we ever find him. Now onto the Gangster, sometime news things are fake but if not really need to step it up.

Hi Eric,

Dont need to explain :o My comment was a joke

I quite understand (and support) your feelings.

And BTW, one of my sons was in LA when 9/11 happened, and as a foreigner didnt first understand the reactions of the people on the streets, crying, wearing Starsbanners, praying, as if America had never be so shocked. We, in Europa, are so accustomed to war, death and ruins that it was difficult for us to understand the deepness of these reactions. Now, joking about it is just fair to compensate the pressure. BTW, for me, ist normal when a New Yorker make a joke about it but I wouldnt accept it if it came from an Europeaer.
