School Lunch Today...

I just thought it might be fun to copy the day's lunch menu...

 

First Course: SALADE TOMATE ET MAIS; COTTAGE CHEESE SALADE; TOMATE CONCOMBRE CAROTTE; SALADE VERTE

Entree: FEUILLETE AUX EPINARDS; LAPIN CHASSEUR; PILONS DE POULET

Vegetable: HARICOTS VERTS; CHOUX FLEUR

Dessert: YAOURT POMME ;PRUNE; BANANE; KIWI;PORT SALUT

 

A pretty good day for vegetarians!

Erm well you know like the cow at the restaurant at the end of the universe? No...I don't think you'll fall for that one will you? All I can say is hand on heart I didn't eat the bunny or any of the other ex-animals.

Entree: Spinach in puff pastry; rabbit in red wine and mushrroms; chicken wings

Vegetable: green beans cauliflower

Dessert:yoghurt; apple; plum; banana; kiwifruit; port salut cheese

 

And abject apologies to Lagomorph for any distressed caused by the bunny murder involved (indirectly as it is).

Every state school in France has a similar menu. In the early years lunch is treated like a class - teachers discuss the menu with the kids and get them tasting things and talking about where it all comes from and how it's cooked.

 

I go to an expat french school. I'm ashamed to say it's private and heavily subsidised by the French state: they don't trust our education system!
