the child who never saw

Recommended Posts

I came up with this while speaking with my brother about a year ago, discussing how blind people see

I decided to just write it here and share this with you all. hope you like it

The child who never saw

Imagine a sky

clouds and birds

sun, moon and the stars

now make the sky pink

clouds are blue-shaped monkeys

birds are red lions

green rainbow for a sun

squared purple stars

black and white lips for a moon

this is not what we see

but it could be

for the child who never did

If a child never saw, how could he/she have concept of color?

But other than that, this is a sweet poem. It's simple, and quite touching.

You know, I read that the first color one detects is green, because that's what the fetus sees when its eyes have been exhausted by the red of his mother's womb. Interesting, eh?

Yeah, I always wondered that. But then, for the blind child there's no pink. Perhaps, he knows colours unknown to us. Is that possible?

Nice poem! :)

Take care,

Thank you for your comments truly appreciated

Now for the concept of colours, I've always wondered how blind people from birth 'see' and we cannot know the answer to that.

That's why I wrote in the end "but it could be"

And it matched it perfectly. :worship: Bravo!
