Former Member Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice. Reminds me of an impossible love situation...beautiful lyrics, beautiful voices.

Former Member Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Dusty springfield's, you don't have to say you love me, Hopelessly devoted to you, Janis Ian, at 17, Yea, I know the last one at least--At 17 is a great piece of heartfelt music.
Hylas Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Selections from my current 'sad' playlist, couldn't find videos for Alice Peacock - Alabama Boy though. :[ Steve Earle - Lonelier Than This Link The Wallflowers - How Far You've Come Link Dido - Look No Further (the official video itself, is also very touching. The song is about family and putting down roots) Link Glenn Frey - Lover's Moon Link Sia - Breathe Me Bah. Changed vids to links. Different formatting, plus limitations on amount of media.
Trebs Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 James - just noticed this thread. Agreed on "Luka" - always weirded me out that dance clubs would play that and Crystal Waters "Gypsy Woman" (its the song with the refrain "She's homeless") Janis Ian - ANYTHING is great, "At 17" is wonderful but if you haven't heard "Society's Child", you should... Lastly, the final song of West Side Story - a reprise of "Somewhere" - I even think about that scene or hear that song and I tear up...
Mikie Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice. Reminds me of an impossible love situation...beautiful lyrics, beautiful voices. No joke I was just about to post this. Such a powerful, moving song that like many songs makes me think about my ex boyfriend. Here's a to the video ~Mikie ETA: @Trebs, I agree about "Somewhere" as well. Also "Walk On" from Carousel, especially Judy Garland's version. 1

VickyS Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Songs that sometimes make me cry, also by the fact that they remind of the past. If only I could turn back time by Aqua, and I want it that way by The Backstreet Boys
Russianrat Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 A little less known entry from me on this topic...."Pale Fire" by Michael Dinner. I'm sure I could think of lots more songs that make me cry, but this one has been running through my head.
