Park gates opposite have been locked as we await another three-day storm even while the disaster areas south of the city are struggling to clear away thousands of wrecked cars and the mud which is everywhere. Meanwhile the north side of Valencia has enjoyed a glorious week of weather and though it rained, the torrential storms stayed south.  A lucky break.

For those of you in hurricane country this is nothing new, but at 19.00 a warning alarm sounded on our mobiles - so scary.   The streets outside are deserted and the heavy rain has finally arrived.  We will be absolutely fine but the poor people s of Valencia will have even more mud to cope with.   And there are people who say there is no climate change…..

And, finally, as they say here Bona nit!

I'm jealous! LOL  We're still doing spring/summer here. That would be o.k. if I was in the southern hemisphere, but it's a bit ridiculous for the week before Thanksgiving. I think we're not going to have any sort of winter. Lately, I've really been missing chilly weather and snow. I'm going to stop now before flip flop girl @kbois comes in and tells me to hush.

We will either have a dud winter ( unusually warm/dry) or be up to our navels with snow. I am betting nothing in between.

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of heat and humidity. We've been lucky since the last you-know-what-named-storm. (I'm not allowing any of my staff to use the "H" word under dire threat of termination lol). It's been warm but not humid. The next few days are going to be relatively cool for Florida. I miss being able to wear flip flops all the time. My battle with tenosynovitis in my ankle is almost over, but I do have to wear sneakers with an arch support when I'm working. At home though, the flip flops rule!

I spent 10 days up in Mass in October and enjoyed the cool weather. It was peak foliage colors which I hadn't seen in 15 years. I loved it. 

My goal is to leave Florida behind in 3-4 years. I want to be closer to my older son. My DIL just started her doctorate program and wants to teach at the collegiate level. Once she graduates and gets a job, then I'll be moving closer to them, especially once they start having kids. There's nothing holding me to this state anymore now that my parents are gone. I'm looking forward to one day corrupting grandkids and getting them all riled up before handing them back to their parents. Lol!

I'm not going to use the H word I'll use the T word instead.Did you know there was a tornado warning in Dallas. They evacuated all the people to the Cowboys stadium seeing that there was no chance of a touchdown there

My best friend ironed her hand when we were in high school from the side of her thumb all the way to her pinky on the top of her hand. Burns are super painful. I hope the rest of the week goes better for you.

I think you deserve a much needed vacation. You've really gone through it. Take care of yourself and send the laundry out to be ironed from now on.

I got a second degree burn on the back of my hand while cooking.   By the time I got to the store to get burn medicine I was in agony.  They're the worst.

I hope you're all okay. I am, but I am not.  I was quite ill and ended up having to have blood tests which came back to tell me some news I didn't want about a disease I didn't want to have. It was a silent one and not related to the illness. I know no one wants that news.

So, I have Chronic Kidney Disease on top of my other things. More diet changes are needed, and i think a trip to a dietician is in order since i in no way need to lose the 4 lbs I've lost since last Friday.  The diet is a delicate balance of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and stuff. The first few days were difficult, but I will figure it out.

I'm not sure what's going to happen. I feel rather weird and not myself at all, so that's where I am.

I'm sorry you got bad news about your kidneys. 

You'll figure the food stuff out out. A consult with a dietician is a step in the right direction.
