Thorn Wilde
Forever ago, this was my favourite band. I stopped listening when they pushed out Tarja, but this song (and the album it’s on) remains a beloved favourite. 1 Link to comment

Pisses me off about modern pop music that you can't just let people have the voices they have. His natural voice is beautiful, so why melodyne the crap out of it like this? It's sad. 1 Link to comment

I'm inclined to agree with you. While I don't mind a bit of synthesia to accentuate certain songs, I believe that ultimately, the artist's own voice should shine through. That being said, I didn't hear any "electronic" voices in this song. Link to comment

Plug-ins like Melodyne are used to correct pitch, even out vibrato, things like that, and it's used in practically all pop-music now. It's sad. They fix things that don't need fixing. You probably wouldn't be able to hear it very well, but I'm a sound tech and a singer. I can always tell. 1 Link to comment
Former Member
I found this on a French Tumblr of all places… The link if you, like me, block automatic loading of videos and autoplay YouTube. ;–) I should point out that Hanukkah is a minor holiday in Israel. It was elevated to major status in the US as an anti-christmas countermeasure. Along with the ‘Hanukkah Bush,’ it is an effort to mollify Jewish kids who see all the hype around Santa and christianity’s second biggest holy day (behind easter, of course – even this Agnostic know that!). ;–) Edited December 7, 2018 by Former Member Link to comment
