2019 Writing Goals

What are you writing goals for 2019?

Mine are:

• Complete 2 entries per Anthology category. (8 stories)
• Complete my Harry Potter Story finally.

 

What are yours?

I'd like to write at least one story per anthology, complete NaPoWriMo in April, and have ideas for two stories I'd like to complete.  One is set in the world of my current antho story (Igneous) and the other is based on my story "Faeries Anonymous".

My first goals are to finish two different stories I have partially written. One is around 26,000 words and one is at about 13,000 words. There is still lots to write, but I want them finished before I start posting. After that I'll see about wrapping up Cards on the Table, before starting anything else. Anthology entries will likely be spur of the moment decisions. And of course there will be poetry.

I have a couple of goals.

1. Final Book in my The Tampa Chronicles series finished. I'm not one to do the neverending story. Even if it's broken up.
2. Write at least one Anthology story for the theme I suggested, "In The Stars."
3. IF my course load allows, do some of the Cia Newsletter games.
4. IF my course load allows, NaNoWriMo.
5. IF one of my stories is good enough, send to a publisher for review.
6. IF my course load allows finishing one of my unfinished stories here.

I want to rewrite my NaNoWriMo 2018 novel, participate in NaPoWriMo 2019, perhaps rewrite a story for the Anthology theme "In the Stars,", and complete a couple of short stories.

I will finish editing, Changes, Again and post that starting in January.
i'd like to write something for the Spring Anthology, depends when it's due. As i will be out for most of May.
I have an idea for something which contains elements of three stories i've written test chapters for. Just in the thinking stage, we will see.

Goes without saying i will write poetry. I'll see how i feel about NaPoWriMo when the time comes. I don't like to force poetry because you can tell there's nothing real in it. Last year i felt good, so the poetry was, the year prior was crap.

1.  Finish writing "Tyler's Story" no later than August and hope to be able to start releasing it in September.

 

2. Get back to figuring out my dastardly plot(s) in a new series about vampires, witches and all around evil.  That's been slow going but I've made progress in the last couple weeks.

 

There is one other story I want to write about Kyle and Jacob, making it the third and final book regarding that setting but that's likely a 2020 goal.

I want to finish Storms, submit something for the anthologies, write some more short stories, probably. If I finish Storms I wanna get properly into one of the other begun/half finished novels I've got lying around... Oh, and also finish my Harry Potter fanfic. Severely Moonstruck's been in the making for far too long, I just really need to finish it. Here's hoping for much hypomania in 2019!

My goal is to incorporate my drawings with my stories instead of focusing all my energy on just either drawing or writing.  I already posted several drawings that I made in this site, and it has given my a lot of ideas that I want to incorporate in my current stories and stories that I hope to post in the future.  For example, I want to draw characters from my story, Hero Wanted, as if they were characters in a fictional video game that is popular in that story's universe that will add to the world-building.  Also, I want to draw my characters from Charming as if they were packaged dolls, sort of a play on Disney princess dolls.  Overall, I want to tell my stories through another method that will expand their universes while still writing them the traditional way.

 

I also want to start a new story I want to title Hullabaloo, New Mexico which will be connected to my other two stories Sweetheart, West Virginia and Hero Wanted.  I don't want to spoil too much, but all three stories will be connected to each of the three sacred treasures of Japan.

The only way to do this, is to write write write. lol.  Or so I've been told.  It is how I dug out of my draught.  I'm working on stuff over at World Anvil right now because I need a far better way to organize my stuff.  I have a fantasy world and Sci-Fi world with a lot of deep history that I need to tie altogether properly.  That's a lot of writing that doesn't necessary go public.  Great place to work out writing woes.  (world building).  You get to write.  It's useful down the road.  It helps work out kinks with your muse.

Spend some time off the treadmill that is my two current stories (Soul Music and Never Too Late ... ). I want a space before I start Book 3 for either of them. Much as I love both, they squeeze out other work. I want to write more Night Thoughts, think about my next long work, and experiment.

I want to finish the story I am working on; I want to plan out and begin a fantasy story I’ve been toying with; I want to continue with several kinds of poetry this year; participate in NaPoWriMo; work my way through another Aquinas chapter that’s rattling around in my head...  of course, who knows what will derail all my good intentions this year?

For me...I want to finally finish off four of the stories that I've been working on for years now. I, honestly thought I would have finished them off long before now but they are in their final chapters, and I look forward to putting them to rest, once and for all.

 

Also, i'm planning on starting my very first 'fantasy' story this year. Not sci fi, but pure fantasy. I've never done one of those before, and it's a challenge that has intimidated me for long enough. It's called "The Plateau"...and I think it'll be really cool once i get all of my notes together and get the mechanics worked out! So ook for that in the Spring!

Well, to be vague...it's basically about a farm boy who loses someone special to him, and has to do battle with an army of  the dead in order to see if he can find him again.

 

That's all I can say for now, as I'm still taking notes and building things up as I go along. But that's the main premise. There's a plateau where the dead roam, and it has been corrupted. So...hehehe, yeah. Coming soon!

I'd like to finally publish a story I've written, either here on GA or in the general market offline. Glitches, technical difficulties, and just the hectic schedule of a part-time deli worker keep getting in the way! I really need to make time for myself to just WRITE!

Well, my goals are simple:

 

1. Finally get Book 2 of my story edited/beta read and released for general consumptions

2. Start writing new stories, one in particular will be a fun project

3. Try my hand at an anthology story again
