I have read Nifty. The average there is 9" on a fifteen year old. 🤤

I personally don't find that level of detail necessary.  The closest I can recall coming to remarking on someone's size, was when a virgin saw a penis for the first time and thought that it looked big.  But that was more of a perception than actual fact and I don't recall ever putting numbers to it.  Do people really write things this way?

This did remind me of a male proofreader I worked with a few years ago.  He would lecture female slash writers about how if a man can take two fingers, then he can probably take a dick.  Three fingers is going to be either the same or more girth than an average penis.  I tended to take the advice of someone who actually had the equipment in question. ;)

Yes. There's an abundance of stories on Nifty, Literotica, Reddit, and other places that has this sort of stuff. Even here on GA you can find the occasional dick size, and feeling of insides being coated.

Add-on to my last post: I've even read a book from Amazon on Kindle Unlimited that had sizes and coatings. So, it's not just internet story posters.

Yeah, that's another pet peeve. The 15-year-old that acts more like a 45-year-old Leather Daddy, with the abnormal pornstar length schlong. LOL

I put it down to porn fantasy

True. But fantasy is one thing, and gross incompetence, especially if you are going to publish on Amazon, is another.

I get a snicker when people use a thesaurus when they're writing a sex scene. 'I gazed at his phallic flaccid member and I cerebrally imagined just how engorged and enormous it could get. I aspired to get him to his unmatched heightened arousal by...'

You're writing a sex scene, let's be real - they don't need so many words for the length of time it actually takes to get from A to Orgasm. :D

I have dated some well-endowed men, but I don't think I've ever come across a 9 footer.

You're right little possum. If we're going by feet and inches it is 6'4" would be Six feet and four inches.

OMG, the 'one finger-two finger-three finger' trope... I was guilty of this before I actually tried this stuff for myself. I mean, if fingering is the point, then sure, but otherwise, totally unnecessary.

I've also never put actual penis length in my story, that I can recall. If I want to tell my audience that a character has a big dick, that's what I say. No need to go into that much detail. I've also had the narrator compare. 'His was slightly bigger than mine.' Because in the end, the only reference most people have is the size of their own equipment and/or that of their parters. For the rest, readers can use their imagination.

To be fair, as it costs nothing to self-publish a book and get it onto KU (and there's little to no reviewing process on Amazon's side; I think they have an algorithm check for anything illegal and that's about it), a lot of the stuff you find there is from internet story posters. :P
