Pictures and memorabilia from one of America's greatest department stores.

I was reading a historical piece on Christmas traditions and stores. One link lead to some info on FB. Apparently one of their windows was dedicated to Lionel trains. This is the 5 level setup in 1952.

@BlindAmbition Yes, they were the largest retailer of Lionel toys in the West. Starting in 1946 I think their toy floor (the 8th floor) was set up with the largest display in the world. It was so popular, they were soon given the 'corner window' in addition. So every year from about 1948 to 1960 they had a train display of not only Lionel, but of every model they sold that year. The custom was revived in 1985 when a local train club volunteered to set one up and maintain it. By 1988, it was a tradition once more and FB trains windows rolled out every Christmas, even after Macy's took over.
