    Chapter 12

And how neglectful was I not to my mention, the most profound, the most moving, the most joyous paragraph you have perhaps ever written @James Carnarvon: “And you’re Marco Fardello,” he replied. “You help people without expecting anything in return, but when something’s not right, you burn. Around your friends, you’ve always felt like the odd one out… you’ve never thought anyone could really like you. But…” He leaned closer to whisper into Marco’s ear. “you’re way hotter than you think you are.” 😭😭😭😭😭😭💖💖💖💖💖💖

    Chapter 12

Actually, Devin hasn't actually passed the maximum end of the range for a growth spurt, which is usually considered to be 18-20, but it doesn't preclude it happening later. I went to school with a boy who was always the smallest boy in the class, and even a graduation he was shorter than most of the girls as well. I ran into him two or three years later and didn't recognize him, because he was 6' 2" (188 cm). And remember that Devin's size doesn't completely rely on what we would face, because as a skinwalker he can make himself taller or shorter at a whim. Yes, it's never good to be bullied, but his family used it teach him to fight back, a skill they felt he'd need if he transit ioned into an animal in the wild.
  5. A return trip to Ravello is a welcome delight at any time of the year, but for this reader at least a return trip in the height of summer is when Ravello presents its more glorious self. From the avenue of oleanders to the scraping of my beloved cicadas, the lemons, the olives and the grape vines, the sparkling water off the Amalfi coast and the scorching midday sun, sheer perfection, and @James Carnarvon describes all with such reverence I can visualise myself there, enjoying these Ravelloesque delights. This story is somewhat darker than James' usual fare, but let it be said, his writing style is NOT reminiscent of a soap opera. Many of the reader favourites return, with the addition of three new characters who are integral to this latest work, all three of whom have had anything but happy childhoods. The highlight of this latest work for me was the growth, the extraordinary growth of Marco, my favourite "Carnarvon creation". Like Ravello itself, it was the "little mouse's" turn to shine, and shine he does. And finally on a very personal note, I have found James' stories of great comfort over the course of the last three years, through some very sad times. The joy his stories bring delight many, and it is the delight of these stories and the sharing of comments by his faithful readers, which have brought joy to me on many an occasion when sadness threatened to overwhelm.

    Chapter 23

This truly is starting to become convoluted, excellent; because it makes for more fun reading. Thank you for sharing your story and very well done with this latest chapter.
  7. Heads up. Order more tissues and maybe even get a prescription for Xanax for the next chapter. Yeah you didn't have to write that I figured this chapter was too calm. Well it might be cool if Karl and Carlo kids becomes friends. Speaking of friends children this is slightly off topic and I bet you already know this the sons of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.James McCartney and Sean Lennon wrote a song together called Primrose Wall and it's pretty good

Didn’t know that Dev could still grow : I thought he passed the growing age 😄 But I understand him : I was myself bullied because I had better grade by other bigger children. Sweet chapter 👍

    Chapter 3

I don't know... You might be a bit surprised when you find out the reason Carl was let go. Soon we hope. Or not... Yes, at some point the years-long emotional stress had to come out. Of course, like most stress, this won't be the only time. Pete's story is far from over. I just hope you like the rest of the story.

Yes, you did. I completely forgot about that.

    Chapter 3

Another entertaining and enlightening chapter @Al Norris. Unfortunately I was not surprised at the "punishment" meted out to Carl by the police. It hardly seems worth the effort of Patrolman Stoner to interview Peter for his side of the story. Unless Patrolman Stoner carries some weight, and given his position I think it unlikely, the visit is merely an exercise in formality, so that whomever is in charge can "tick the box" to declare both parties in the "disagreement" had been interviewed. My favourite part of this chapter was when Uncle George drop all pretence of civility and stated exactly what he thought of Peter's mother "The fact is, I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen ever since you got here. You’ve lived for eight years with that monster, never shedding a tear." Well said Uncle George, accurate and succinct.
  16. I liked that this chapter was realistic. Therapy doesn't just consist of crisis after crisis. There are periods of time when problems get resolved and things run relatively smoothly. Divorce is particularly bad for the children, especially where the divorce isn't amicable or when one parent breaks off contact with the children. It leaves them feeling so abandoned. Pleased to hear that Jason has moved to be closer to both families. It does seem that this period of calm is about to end.
  17. Some amazing stories on that list.

Yay Mitch! Yay Coach and team! Things are looking up for Pete. After he, um, gets all the stitches out.

    Chapter 12

Al, I think I also comment in previous chapters how Mac explained that when he and Devin were younger, Devin would always stick up for him and even do the fighting when Mac was bullied. I think Devin was learning it wasn't the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog - or person.

    Chapter 3

Finally a breakdown, not pleasant but a necessity, now he has more or less got rid of his demon mother and can now build himself up to what he is and can be going into the future, a very enlightening chapter, a great story, thanks you

    Chapter 12

Transitioning into a Ninja wouldn't automatically supply him with the skills the Ninja had acquired after years of practice. It's different with animals, because he only acquires instinctive behavior, not learned behavior. That would be acquired over time. Yes, with some couples it is common to alternate invitations to dinner, but not with every person you have over for a meal. Eventually, however, you'd probably stop inviting those people over, unless you were merely doing it as a good Samaritan.
