Looks like Pete is getting set up, not only by Carl & crew, but also for upcoming chapters.

I have suspected Uncle George is gay since chapter 1, and the frank advice he gave the boys in this chapter regarding the "less glamorous" aspects of gay sex have all but confirmed my suspicions. Said bus to be driven @drsawzallby Mary Wickes aka Sister Mary Lazarus or maybe just driven by Mary Wickes playing Mary Wickes (she was hilarious in the Doris Day/Gordon McRae films On Moonlight Bay and By The Light Of The Silvery Moon). It certainly appears Carl's family (likely Carl's father) has influence he has used to ensure Carl's "punishment" for his hate crime was laughable. With a little luck Larry Lundquist (love the alliteration @Al Norris) may be able to exert some influence of his own. The smell of corruption is not quite a stench, but there is certainly an odour in the air with both the police and the school principal treating Peter with indifference at best and homophobic contempt at worst. Methinks the "old boys" network and/or religious bigotry have raised their ugly heads yet again in Flat Earth Central. And what about Mary? What a c..t. I did not realise the extent of the boulder which killed Peter's father @Al Norris. I recall I read the chapter late at night or in the early hours of the next morning, so likely did not appreciate it. I recall realising he must have been disfigured and was appalled Mary made Peter view his body in the open casket, but a 15 ton boulder. I am surprised he was not just liquid with some shards of bone. Mary is despicable. I am a vengeful bitch @Al Norris so I sincerely hope you have a dreadful incident ready for Mary, one which will not end her without significant, long-lasting suffering.

A couple of things: 1) a really enjoyable aspect to this chapter was how many things from the previous chapter's comment section came up. For example: soft & Eon in the same sentence (I know the reference was to a soft dom but that's also not happening. Dude's hardcore to the bone but definitely not a dom. Switch plus s&m sure - the fact that he and his pet monster both tend to require healing after a shag session is kinda telling in that department, no?) Here we saw Eon in all his hard-arsed glory - cruel even, if Kalian is to be believed. I mean sure he was dealing with a kid and he was training said kid but still. Hardcore, just like every other part of his life. Just because he rubs Wren's belly & waits on him on occassion does not a soft anything make. Another example: the question of where'd the rescued kid go? Eira (the little girl from Dleth) who has been living with Tyren & Hanja (autocorrect reckons ganja was the word I actually meant, which ha ha funny shit sure, but no) and is apparently as obsessed with ShadowBoy as the rest of us are, shoots lightning from her fingertips like a boss. And the whole "what exactly is Sunbeam capable of"? Yeah, even that got explored a bit more here. Plus revisiting the option of spell combos, nice! There was more I think but those were the ones that really stuck out for me. And really helped hammer home the fact that we, the readers, need to stop being so bloody impatient and trust our writer a bit more. Bit of a 'shhh daddy's got this' vibe really. Which yeah, nice 2) I'm really worried about your red flags about Ama though, boss. I mean, I know its your thing, slipping herrings in wherever they fit (or don't) under the cover of shadows and all but damn, that one would really hurt. A lot. A lot. Hope I'm wrong. And honestly, not all that sure about Lyrah either. Or for that matter, the other sister, of whom only vague mentions have been made but upon whom much trust is put by people who really should know better. Are all the chicks (aside from Potlyne & the housekeeper lady who's name I can't think of right now, and the ones who have already died for the cause) a bit unreliable, or is that just me? Interesting the explanation between pornography and erotica... I understand it. The way David made sex (love...) with Bruce and Bruce with him is something I think every human being desires for himself. When you get lost in a different universe and you feel like home... Although he didn't say it I think Officer Stoner has told us that Carl's family has some pull that it shouldn't have, there is no doubt that the school are also aware of the influence. While it's good that Pete has been able to look after himself he is now injured and not so capable, which is why Carl is happy making his threats and boasting to his friends. Pete will need the support of his new friends and I hope they will stand by him. I don't think Mitch will remain in the closet for much longer, I get the feeling that either he or someone else will out him very soon. Carl needs to be dealt with before he causes more harm so I hope George and his lawyer can do what legally needs to be done, but I don't think that is going to be easy. George is a fantastic uncle who will make a first-rate dad, and reading between the lines I'm not surprised he has a lot of knowledge about gay sex and love, I've got my opinions on why and how he has this knowledge, have you? 😉 Pete's first time was clumsy and awkward, but it was real, which makes it believable and fun to read about.

New Kid In School was the first story I'd ever read on GA as I didn't know that a lot of erotic fiction existed.
