    Chapter 3

You made me cry again, sigh and with fingers crossed I hope all is well and the god of luck will help with all of this changes!
  6. The Tardis could be the solution. Not just to Jamie and RMW's current predicament, but too so much more. Like the real housing crisis everywhere. With a 'static' exterior size, but an adaptable and expandable interior, each could house an entire family. Imagine, a city block filled with 100 Tardis, could house 1,000's. Back to your story @lawfulneutralmage and the 'cliffie'. "... the minister ... lifted his pistol. “I can do it.” “No, you won’t!” I couldn’t believe this! “Jamie, step aside!” “The hell I will.” I put my hand on my pistol, ready to draw. “Don’t make me!” Part of Jamie's training as a UK police officer, included in their mission statement, is to "protect lives" and prevent others from committing crimes. Will Jamie be forced to shoot the Minister (disarming or killing him?) to prevent RMW murdering the hostage woman (even as the leader of the demons is about to kill her)?

But Liam is growing up and maturing, and he is living in a very supportive environment. I wanted to show that here. Also, it gave me the chance to revisit his awful mother and show someone with no insight, who can't change their behaviour.

    Chapter 4

So... Did this chapter answer most of those questions you had at the end of Chapter 3?
  10. Oh so evil socialist Finland has a cure for homelessness: they give people homes! That sounds odd, even for states with a social welfare system. Usually, people have to "prove" that they are "worthy" of a flat. Now how can you sort yourself out when you sleep on the streets? So, the Finns turned it around, and it seems to work: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2018/02/how-finland-solved-homelessness/

    Forty-Two

It's nearly three years since he's seen his mother and Liam has had some really good quality care and therapy since then. This is also a unique chance for Liam, to see his mother when he wasn't there, i.e. strutting her stuff on a reality dating show. The last time he saw his mother, Liam barely had a relationship with anyone else. Now he has a therapeutic relationship with Aiden and Janet, a good friendship with Mark and a very close and caring relationship with Ed. These people have changed his life, and he isn't the same person he was when he killed Rhys Clarke. Many, many years ago, a very heavily pregnant friend of mine went to a wedding with her family. She was the only person in her group who couldn't drink. She watched the antics of her drunken mother and was horrified. She saw how badly behaved her mother was and was horrified. That story has stuck with me ever since, I've used it in another story, I thought it would work so well here, Liam gets to see how badly behaved his mother is when he isn't there.
  12. A couple of weeks ago, there was an announcement that Comicality's writing blog would cease and that people who enjoyed it should take the opportunity to tell him. At that point, I wondered what happened there, but I made a mental note to write a response telling how much I had enjoyed him sharing his advice. I never did. There was always something more important to do. Life and seize the day! He was my age ... I sincerely hope his passing was easy and peaceful! RIP!

    More Obstacles

So this whole story has been quite a ride, what with everything constantly slipping sideways in the most undeniably awful ways repeatedly and with practiced ease, before just as easily (& repeatedly) suddenly sliding - or being forcibly ripped - in the opposite direction. A bit like that ride (that I ofc have shares in because I spend so much time on it) at the amusement park... Anyway, my point is that by now - arc 3 - I should be used to it. Perhaps even looking forward to it. Especially because there are almost certainly (read: bloody well better be) epic battle/scenes coming up and - based on previous chapters - there is a fairly - very, even - good chance the end will justify the means and, everything - overall - will turn out hobbitses. But nope, my belly informs me that, regrettably, I'm actually a bit worried... I think I may have crossed the line from slightly-more-than-moderately invested to in-it-up-to-my-flipping-ears? And yeah, maybe the fact that after being forced to miss my visit here yesterday due to a series of annoying events (read: life happening) I was a miserable af sod who grumbled about making everyone around me equally miserable for the entire day, is proof that I don't trust these clowns to get through a single day without me watching (over) them. Because that's not absolutely nuts and/or presumptuous as hell or anything, is it...? Nah, 'course not. Totally normal. It's all your fault though, Mr WriterDude. Because if you hadn't left this brilliant tale just lolligagging about on the grass, wagging it's paragraphs enticingly at random passing dragons, we wouldn't be having this convo now would we? Although, tbf & honest, I'm really really glad you did. And I'm pretty stoked at not having to fight another dragon for the privilege. Not that I wouldn't, mind, I absolutely would fight. And I'd win. Ofc. But enough yakking - great chapter boss! Onward!!!
