    Chapter 12

I like fire elementals. And how does one jump in on a comment thread on page 6 that is so utterly derailed already. XD I don't want to see Kage gone from Elijah for too long, but I have separation anxiety, so there's that.

    Chapter 43

Fritz's death hit George hard. The invasion plans for India just amps up the stress.
  7. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Ritzen will be in alot of trouble, especially as he has caused Oscar to have panic attacks and to have a breakdown.
  8. Oh wow! Obviously someone got things badly confused. But who? Did Rizen misread his friendship with Oscar? Had he been dropping hints about his (possible) sexual interests (perhaps in their accommodation at boarding school) and not getting any response decided to risk it all by taking a chance to force a reaction from Oscar? It doesn't seem to be a case of "just boys experimenting", based on Oscar's initial reaction of needing time to think and pushing a mate away. (a similar reaction we've seen before by lead characters in other @quokka stories). Add to that is the demanding attitude of his father, who in addition to being overbearing, was homophobic that frightened Oscar enough to induce an anxiety or panic attack? Oscar needs to speak with the CAMH professional, who must assure Oscar that whatever the patient says its not automatically told to parents*. Perhaps Gram and Gramps can help, as they're already sensing something different about Oscar? NB * This is not a 100% guarantee. In Australia, psychologists have an ethical and legal responsibility to protect the rights to confidentiality and privacy of your child. However, there are occasions when psychologists are legally obliged to disclose information, for example, if they believe the child, or someone else in the community, is at risk of harm.

    Chapter 2

If I say more than 'believe it', I could be considered libelous. But trust me, it happened. Of course, I've juggled names, locations, etc, to protect the 'innocent' coach.

Pavel's wife was surprising. The bit about the Tsar's spies being so easily coopted was funny.

    Chapter 2

I have a hard time believing that a football coach can get away with sexual assault on female high school students, in this time of me-too. That school district is opening itself to some huge lawsuits.
  14. For the next three days, Rizen and I rode the horses at a leisurely pace, kayaked on the river, and went for long walks around the paddocks. On Thursday morning, as we returned from the stables to have some breakfast, Gramps came out of the office smiling. “Right boys, we are going to be busy for the next few days, a truck will be arriving at the sheds at about 10 am, so we need to go and open the north boundary gate, to let him in, and I will go and make sure the front end loader is ready to un

    Chapter 2

Another excellent chapter. It was terrific that Alex was able to look after himself in the locker room. It is interesting that bullies tend to pick on individuals in a pack. They like to have back up. Even while doing this they still refer to the person they are bullying as "weak". Here we had almost a full football team ready to attack one person. Typical. Greg is in a strange position. A Baron Vampire who was born a human but fated the be a vampire. And not just a vampire, but vampire nobility. In a sense he is a supernumerary Baron. This must make the other Barons wonder what the heck's going on and is one of them going to be displaced, or is another Barony going to be created for Greg. If so, where? That must resonate strongly for the Baron, in whose territory Greg lives. We can only assume that the fates that determine vampire nobility have something special in mind for Greg.

    Did you know:

    -Bald eagle

    40.Bald-eagle.jpg

The word 'bald' in 'bald eagle' has nothing to do with the definition as a lack of hair. Rather, the term bald eagle is derived in English from the word 'piebald', in reference to their white heads and tail feathers in contrast to the darker color of the rest of their bodies.

    -Earwigs

    15.Earwigs.jpg

Earwigs are not known to purposefully climb into external ear canals, though there have been anecdotal reports of earwigs being found in the ear. Entomologists suggest that the origin of the name is actually a reference to the appearance of the hindwings, which are unique and distinctive among insects, and resemble a human ear when unfolded.

    -Silver Loan for Manhattan Project

    27.Manhattan-Project.jpg

In 1942, the Manhattan Project required 5000 tons of copper, which was in short supply. To avoid delays, it borrowed 430 million troy ounces of silver from the US Treasury for use in magnets. The silver was fully returned by 1970, as the equipment was decommissioned.

It is a day to have fun with your food and to celebrate delicious and easy-to-eat dishes on a stick. In many cultures, snacks and road-side food are served on a stick or a skewer. Savory or Sweet These snacks are usually chunks of vegetables or meat that are grilled, baked, or fried. Food on a stick can be savory or sweet and can be served hot or cold. Meat on a Stick Kebabs (kebap or kebob) are some of the most well-known snacks that are cooked and or served on sticks. Usually made of lamb meat, though pork, beef, and chicken can also be used to make the dish, kebabs are eaten around the world as a snack or as a main dish. Easy to Handle Another favorite food on a stick, typically found at fairs and food markets is a corn dog - a sausage that is dipped in a batter and fried. Sweet snacks that are often served on a stick include caramel apples, ice pops, and cotton candy. How to Celebrate? Throw an everything-on-a-stick-party and serve your guests food and drinks (think popsicles) on a stick. Rethink what you eat daily as dishes on a stick. What about making pancakes on a stick or pies on a stick? Prefer to be healthy? Eat fruit on a stick. Did You Know... ...that the ancient Greeks used sticks or skewers to cook their meat? *** Several months ago, my daughter and I had similar virus symptoms. She decided to consult a doctor so as not to lose any more time from her job. “I’ll see the doctor,” she said, “and then tell you what’s wrong with us.” The next day she called to say, “Guess what, Mom. We’re pregnant!” *** I was editing classified ads for a small-town newspaper when a man called to place an ad. "It should read," he said, "‘Free to good home. Golden retriever. Will eat anything, loves children.’" *** Once while riding the bus to work, I noticed a man at a stop enjoying a cup of coffee. As we approached the stop, he finished drinking and set the cup on the ground. This negligence surprised me, since it seemed to be a good ceramic cup. Days later I saw the same man again drinking his coffee at the bus stop. Once again, he placed the cup on the grass before boarding. When the bus pulled away, I looked back in time to see a dog carefully carrying the cup in his mouth as he headed for home. *** The board of education in a nearby town sold off a building that had been a one-room schoolhouse. The buyer converted it to a tavern. One day an elderly man was walking by the place with his grandson and pointed to the building. "That's where I went to school when I was your age." "Really," said the boy. "Who was your bartender back then?" *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** sandrewn
