    Seasons

The Giving Tree in White hit me hard. To me, that’s an immensely powerful poem. Your class is fortunate to have gotten the first readings of these.
  3. Parker Owens

    Chapter 1

Thank you very much. One of my favorite times of year is going out to a heritage apple orchard and picking a big mixed bag of old varieties.
  4. Parker Owens

    Chapter 1

Thank you for reading these and for your comments. That sonnet took a while to come together; it was the last part of this set to be finished.

    Chapter 1

I’m very glad these poems left a good taste behind. There were so many ways to approach the apple theme that it was hard getting started. Thank you for reading these and for your comments!
  6. Yeah, I don’t like him either. 💚
  7. On the way home, Greg remembered he needed to get some things for the dinner he’d planned for them. He quickly called Brandon and told him to go on to the house while he stopped at Kroger. Thirty-one-year-old Maddox Barksley sat in his truck outside the grocery store and got lost in his thoughts. He spent over a decade in prison and was released a few months ago. The ex-con accessed a savings account opened before his imprisonment and withdrew some funds to change his name, get plastic

    Chapter 1

you already know I love these. The final one, in particular, grabs me. It's longing but hopeful, and there's something beautifuly human in that.
  9. Obviously it reminded me of White Rabbit with a dose of an evil clone of Mama Cass.

    The Visitor

M said the M word and it's freaking closeted Connor out. No wonder Connor is so anti-social. He came from a dysfunctional family and was abandoned by his mother with an abusive, alcoholic dad. One thing puzzles me. I've never been in a trailer, but I know how they're constructed. How do you have a room with a concrete floor?

    Into the Past

Probably not too often, but I'm sure there is some more prose in my noggin that will get written down. Thanks for opening my eyes. xoxo

    Into the Past

Thanks Al. For as much as time can be a thief, it gives us some wonderful memories too.

    Chapter 6

It has been interesting to see how the relationship is growing between Phill and Collin and between Jason and Collin...While I never thought I would ever become the age I am, it is amazing to have a chance to look back at some of the defining cultural moments of my generation. I get the sense that despite Phill's moodiness that there is a chance that he just may be able to 'graduate' from this rehabilitation facility and into a small apartment, here's hoping that he does. Still, there are several remaining thoughts, what of his son and house, Nurse Sullivan's son? It is hard to believe that my past is now history, the only thing that remains unchanged are the adult children who populate the many layers of our government and those around the world.

    Chapter 11

River's character is more fully revealed as he diagnoses himself. He is a giver and the one who takes care of his friends. He is there for them and tries to fill in the holes and help them deal better with themselves and others. He ends leaving work to find Alec and help his handle his newly tweaked medicine which is acting in new ways. He has been taking care of Alec since they were 17. River feels he does not give himself enough personal time . But he is considering something new: focusing on one guy and not playing around. He will not yet admit it to Kenji, but he sees him in a new way that makes him nervous. Let us see how their date goes.... Kenji does..."Make me nervous that is. Partly because of what we might get involved in and partly because I was dangerously close to the conclusion that if I gave this a chance, I might like the guy. A small corner of my brain whispered softly that I already liked him or I wouldn’t have kept up communication. I wouldn’t be meeting up with him. So yes. The answer was yes. Kenji made me nervous and it was a feeling completely alien to me."
  19. Simon’s body was numb, and his mind was overcome by waves of drunken pleasure. The beams of the sex room ceiling were bouncing up and down as his body was jolted by each thrust deep in his ass. He hazarded a glance down at the hairy older man that was gruffly using him at the moment. The man grunted with effort, but loved the feel of Simon’s loose, wet hole around his cock. There had been a long line of men and beasts that had come and fucked Simon senseless. Lord Julian Crusnik was supplying hi

    Chapter 11

My apartment was too cold. My feet were freezing. It didn’t help that I’d been sitting cross-legged for a number of hours. My body’s circulation to my legs was not working and I had no one to blame but myself. I sat up straighter, twisting this way and that until my back cracked. This was slightly harder to do when I refused to put my paintbrush down. There was no time. No time for proper stretching and no time to stop painting when I’d been bitten by the inspiration bug. I melted into my n
