  1. “You look good, Jarhead.” César smiled while nodding. He was at last satisfied with Brett’s attire. The Marine winked at his husband and stuck a pair of sunglasses atop his head. Tuesday after the long, holiday weekend had finally arrived. “Let’s go, Big Daddy. Let’s go reclaim some artwork and buy a house to display it all in.” “Good morning. We’re here to see Mr. Llorosa.” Brett sounded upbeat and looked relaxed. Morning sex agreed with him too. At César’s suggestion, he had added a blazer to his sneakers, jeans, and light sweater. The woman smiled at them from behind

Adrian laid back into the corner of his sofa, bare feet up on the coffee table, drumming the fingers of one hand on the armrest, the remote in his other hand, flicking mindlessly from one television channel to the next. Nothing caught his imagination. Repeats of old shows aired on the major networks, and sports he didn’t really follow ran on the cable channels. With no work on the horizon, and all the grocery shopping he needed already done, he had stayed indoors all day, trying to find things to keep him busy. After a morning run followed by an hour’s workout with the multi-functional wei

It only took us a few hours to reach the marina, pulling into our assigned dock, we were between two large yachts. The boys looked at them, “Would you rather we had a boat like that?” “No, we couldn’t fish with a boat like that.” I waved to the people on the yachts as we left The Peter Charles, to do a little sight seeing. Tomorrow a bus would take us into Mexico City and the ruins known as Tenochtitlan. I thought we should engage a guide who could answer the boys questions. As it turn

Then the magic words, 'Joseph, anchor, Johnathan, bow lines, Sammy, stern lines," we were docked. Cannery men came on board to help unload, Charles checked scales. Johnathan had a bag of shrimp and a lobster for the men for helping, Andy ran to the Wharf returning with two pans. I went and watched, I wanted to be sure I had enough shrimp for our special customers as well as for the judge. “Andy, just take five lobster, enough for your aunt and uncle as well as

He had even planned to be fashionably late. “You’re still annoyed with him, remember?” He told himself. “It’s not cute to come off desperate.” Was it petty? Absolutely. But Ronnie decided that Taran could cool off a bit. The rest of his day had been a bit of a blur. He was wiped from the flight training, but he had also been preoccupied with replaying the morning’s events with Taran again and again. One moment they were making out — Taran even initiated! — and the next, he was pushed away to

  8. Sunday morning as Mike exercised at the fitness center his thoughts went back and forth between the condoms in Maggie’s nightstand and his new acquaintance. Why would a 45 year old woman have condoms in her nightstand? The answer was obvious, she was fucking someone in their bed. Since Mike had no interest in fucking his wife he was not devastated. Who was the guy? Was there more than one? How long had this been going on? As a professional real estate agent she met an assortment of people. Why were they doing it in their home? Maybe they were just condoms that she had found in son Pete’s room.

  9. Hello to you all, Coming to you from the C.V. epicenter of Canada (Montreal) and probably the most locked down place (island) in North America. I have not been tested, but I feel fine, with only the health issues I had before all this started. I hope and pray all of you are okay as well. One bright spot has been that my barber opened last week and I got my first hair cut in over three (or 4?) months. The longest my hair has been since I joined the military at 17. I stopped in to say HI, add 145 friends to my list and just to let you know I was still around and

  10. The next two months flew by as Ronnie fell into a routine as a member of the Syndicate of Heroes. Training became more structured, and he spent every weekend at headquarters learning how to better use his powers. Taran had once told him that superpowers were strengthened by routine exercise. However, Ronnie was still surprised at how rote and repetitive the process often was. Every morning started with guided meditation alongside a Syndicate trainer, all with the goal of teaching Ronnie concentration and greater mastery over his powers. It was a struggle for him to sit in the quiet room wi

Why, in this day and age, we fear our differences is frankly, stupid, ignorant and childish. We live in an age of great knowledge. We live in great melting pots filled with people from everywhere. And rather than stop and learn about each other, we hide in the corner like frightened children. Stop blaming. Stop being afraid. We are all just human beings. Ignorance is rife. Be proud of who you are but not at the expense of others. Open yo

Andy didn’t hit on me a third time because I snuck up on him. “I have permission to help you teach,” I said. “When I want.” He just looked at me. “Huh?” And I explained my conversation with Linden. “What if I don’t want?” he asked warily. I grinned. “Then I guess it’s back to the bench.” He thought about that for a moment then laughed. We were sitting at our usual corner table in the Canteen, about as far from the speakers and dancing as we could get. “Now how did that happen?” he asked. I added some more detail, and he thought about that. “Not a

  15. Nice chapter as usual, Carlos. Good thing CJ was not at CAMALA with Brett and César, I don't think anyone could have stopped CJ and the Marine from taking the artwork themselves! It's always a treat to get a new chapter on Fridays, more so this week: it's been so stressful that I was logging in yesterday and getting upset because there was nothing new from you... till I realized it was still Thursday! So ready was I for the working week to come to an end! Thanks for your nice writing and for this parallel universe (CJ-verse) you gift us! All the best, JACC

  16. I second @Brayon’s comments , @Renee Stevens: I, too, am rather shocked and disappointed that you’ve had to deal with so many petty complaints that you would consider quitting what I’ve always seen as excellent work. Then again, as one of my mentors used to say, “Computer systems work fine... until you add users.” (Ok, perhaps not the best analogy, but people often manage to gum up the best plans.) So, kudos to you for your hard work organizing and managing the Anthologies. I’m not a creative writer, but I will promise to do a better job reading, liking, and commenting on the stories published

  20. Chapter Nine – That Makes Two Of Us Adrian studied the expensive pen in his hand, seemingly fascinated with its craftsmanship. Edward had nothing to worry about. During the week, Adrian was mostly all work and no play, but, of course, that was not at all why he cared about keeping his promises. Just like the luxury item in his hand, Edward was intriguing him and very much pleased him, which was not something he could say about any partner he had ever shared fleeting moments of pleasure with. If someone had asked what he liked so much about Edward, he would have been hard-pressed to def

After that i decided that my Father in heaven couldn't be much of a father, if He also allowed these things to happen to his children. Yet, i can remember standing beside my mom and listening to her sing Abide With Me. And the other people greeting us as friends weekly. Those things i remember. Those things are good. Honestly, by the time they arrived at the Davenport house I am sure Auntie and any number of other board members would have chewed the twit out, yet he still had the balls to tell the OWNER of an extensive art collection what he can and cannot do with the art? Methinks César may need more than a leash for Brett before this comes to it's natural conclusion. A whip and chair come to mind. ❤

  25. I went for a walk around 9 this morning. It was sunny, but with a cool breeze for the most part. It helps that I’m closer to the lake than I used to be. Though in cold weather, it’s a bit of the opposite, so I’d walk in the opposite direction. Speaking of hot, it is supposed to get more so as the day progresses, so I’m off to do a bit of weeding - just spot weeding now - while there’s still shade. See you laterz. *waves*

They’d dozed off for a while, exhausted by the flight and its aftermath combined with not having had much sleep the previous night. Then they’d been distracted by the dragons returning. Herebeth caught a wherry that he shared rather messily with Rioth. All in all, it had been a relaxing way to spend a morning and D’gar felt very mellow. As they walked in, he spotted several of the other Fort riders sitting around a table. ‘Here goes,’ he said softly to H’rek. He’d already warned him that they would be in for some good-n

  46. Morning, all. Most important news I have today is that I am expecting a delivery of 16 kilogram (about 35 pound) of stoneground strong wholemeal flour this afternoon. Since the lockdown, it's been impossible to find wholemeal bread flour in the stores and, as I am rapidly coming to the end of what I already had in stock, I went online yesterday and ordered in bulk from a flour mill in the south of the country. White bread flour is occasionally on the shelves in the stores, but I detest white bread. Cloudy sort of day here, with the occasional shower forecast. Currently about 14°C (5

Walking around the house, I was pleased at how it looked on the outside, and since I have not officially been handed the keys, I walked through to the landscaped garden park that I had built especially for Spike and Frilly. I found about half a dozen deep burrows that would be ideal shelters for them both, as well as plenty of rocks and sandy hills to climb over and dig in, as well as some desert shrubs and ground covers to match with the terrain. The landscaper had done an excellent job of building the four different climate areas, and I hoped that both of my pets would be very happy
