I waited a long time for Capote to finish "Answered Prayers."  All it finished was him.

I know the feeling. A number of stories I've followed have not been updated for years.

Many thanks for the thoughts and reactions. Even after all this time the pain hasn't gone but it's easier to deal with now than when I was 15. 😢

  13. It's Sunday afternoon. 30 Degrees C. Humid as hell and the A/C in my lounge room has just died. To paraphrase an 80 year old green witch -  "I'm melting..... I'm melting....."

Just so you  know, 30 C is considered a mild summer day here even with high humidity.

I’ve got -15C/5F and a fresh batch of snow on the ground. I’ll gladly take some of that 30C of your hands.

  16. Thanks for liking my story. It was my first attempt.

    1. majjen00

I really liked it! I kept trying to figure out what in the world was going on and didn't have a clue. My jaw literally fell open that it was for voting...too funny!  :) Look forward to reading more of your stories!

  17. When my cats aren’t happy, I’m not happy. Not because I care about their mood but because I know they’re just sitting there thinking up ways to get even. – Percy Bysshe Shelley

Think one of the cats sabotaged his sailboat? Now that would be getting even.  :P

Somehow I wish that was a little more reassuring....

  19. In 4 hours I'm leaving for the airport ✈️ en route to Shanghai for a couple of days, before cruising 🚢 back home, arriving on Sept. 14th. Unlikely to get internet access while I'm away - but who knows.

Best wishes for a fabulous trip!

  20. I've just noticed that I've been a member for a smidge over 5 years. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun. Here's to many more "good reads". 📖

      Happy 5th GA Anniversary!

  21. Am I just being picky or does anyone else find it annoying to read the synopsis of a story, find it interesting and then notice that it hasn't been touched for years? This is one reason I only read complete stories.

  22. 142 days until my next vacation. Not that I'm counting.....:P

  23. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

  24. In just over6 hours (3:30am Australian Eastern Standard Time - 10hours ahead of the UK) I'll be leaving for the airport for the first of 3 flights to Buenos Aires for my Antarctica Cruise. I'll be gone until March 9th and will spend my birthday (seas permitting) in Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands. Until then - keep the great stories coming. :P

We used Celebrity when we did the Alaskan cruise and the food was excellent, especially in the dining room.  The itinerary looks awesome and I wish you fair weather and seas.  Enjoy!

  25. Beginning to get excited about my next vacation. On Saturday I leave for Buenos Aires to cruise down to Antarctica and The Falkland Islands for 2 weeks, then a couple of days in Santiago on the way home. :2thumbs:
