    The Belly of the Beast

It is absolutely, positively not a cliffhanger.

Being 12 to 16 hours ahead of most of you I was out walking the dogs when this was posted. When I arrived home made a coffee checked and there was this chapter

I just had to read it (I was going to do some work on my car) just could not put it off. It is now 1045 hrs 38 deg C sun just starting to reach the car bugger it do it tomorrow.

Another great chapter did not need tranquillisers this time but as predictable left with a cliff hanger which is not by CJ's definition not a CLIFF HANGER I still got a couple of nails left on my hand

It is absolutely, positively not a cliffhanger. :)

    The Belly of the Beast

What if there isn't a way out to find?

Can't stand the suspense. Those three heartbeats had me worried. But despite the predicament they are in, I'm sure they can find a way out. In the mean time - Ding Dong The Witch is Dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The Belly of the Beast

What's the solution you see? You might be right, because I will say this; any hope they have will come from the crew of Atlantis... and yep, Trevor is crazy.

Whew.....well, CJ was true to his word....a little less tense thingy at the end!!! I do see a solution, I do. Only one completely insane would try such a thing but...(oh, yea.....we're talking about Trevor!).....

    The Belly of the Beast

The last chapter and epilogue should be along in a timely manner. The horrendously long dealy for this chapter was due to a "perfect storm" of unforeseen real-life circumstances, for which I sincerely apologize.

A nail biting, by-the-seat-of-the-pants chapter. The research involved must be tremendous. I can see why you want everything just right before you post. I'm so glad to see Shane survived and so happy to see that Bridget didn't. You know we will, CJ, but I hope we don't have to wait quite so long for the last chapter. What a great way to spend part of a Saturday night! Kudos!

    The Belly of the Beast

It's not the last chapter. There is one more, plus an epilogue. What happened was I had to split the last chapter; what you just read was the first half.

If this was the last chapter, it was a shitty ending! You're killin me here, dude.....

There are no cliffhangers in Circumnavigation!   The next chapter is the last.

    Doomsday

Trevor had a reason to not hit Bridget... if she'd been shot and killed, she wouldn't have been alive to holler for help and lure the other cartel boats in. He wasn't sparing her... he was using her for bait.

C James, you cruel and abusive bastard! :*) To leave us hanging with the four souls, three beating hearts cliff hanger. Though, seriously this is one AWESOME story with another one of your breath holding, heart pounding, action packed chapters. I hope that all on this cat survive because I didn't spend 2 years of my life with these characters for any one of them to die. I will be both pissed and sad at the same time. Well except for Bridgette. That bitch needs to be slowly tortured then put to death. I couldn't believe Trevor instructed the others to "try not to hit Bridgette". WTF? I would have said KILL THE BITCH!

Thanks for such a great and entertaining story. I am prepping my self for the final word to be read on this long, roller coaster of a ride story and the emptiness that is sure to follow.

Ack!!   Now, now, don't blame me... clearly, this is all Bridget's fault.

C James... it's over. I loved you once but now I don't. You are but a mere bastard with no regard for us your long suffering followers. If there are not 4 beating hearts when the next chapter starts I will hunt you down(if MY heart survives that long).

    Stephen

P.S. did I mention that you're a total bastard(and I'm an Aussie, so I'm not talking about your parentage).

The four souls and three beating hearts is on Atlantis. It'll make sense, I promise.

I was wondering if the 4 souls counted as bodies, because 4 souls and 3 beating hearts doesn't make sense to me. However i have heard 1 soul lost at sea.

We know Trevor got hit and was bleeding but we also know the Trevor hit the man launching the grenades. So is this Bridget's Boat!!

And is it about to explode as Xavier look into the engine room, and Trevor, Shane, Lisa and Joel will have to pick them up as they send out mayday message, then they have leverage over Bridget and First Amongst Equals.

I still think there is two more chapters and epilogue to go

I have stuck with you for 3 years. I have been depressed on and off all week when I think of the possible outcome for our boys (and girl). I will pass my final judgement after I have read the final chapter and epilogue. Three years?!!!! Jeez. You think I would get a life.

    The Grand and Deadly Design

Sometimes, the police just make mistakes, too. For example, in the recent rouge cop episode in Los Angeles, they shot up a pickup truck that wasn't even the same color, let alone the same make, as the one the suspect had. And the two women in it looked nothing like the suspect. Then,m for good measure, half an hour later, cops on the same force did the same thing to another pickup truck. As for the actual suspect, he hadn't been seen within 30 miles.   No fear of that, um, thing at the end... i

It's fiction, Skalla....but the police do some incredibly stupid things, usually because some agenda they have doesn't fit with what their focus should be! I live in a large city and at least once per year news of police brutality comes to light and there's also far to often evidence of wrongful imprisonment in this state or stories of people imprisoned for many years who are found to have been wrongfully imprisoned and their cases are reviewed for potential release. The potential good news for them is that when you are imprisoned wrongfully in the states you earn monetary award for the time you are incarcerated which can reach impressive value.

As for the story, I liked this chapter!! Some twists and turns and movement toward the conclusion....and then that thing at the end that you have to wait on the next chapter for....The probably have those in Gitmo...though they may be difficult to find in Florida. We should just rename them sink holes.

That's a good point, but one I think I can defend. I'll get a post up in my forum on the issue up tomorrow, showing real-world examples of the police acting... well, you'll see, but if I had them doing that in a story, I'd be laughed off the internet.. ;-)   As for the company that sent the raffle, it was mentioned that they did check. I very much like this story because of the setting and the characters but I find it sometimes quite hard to believe : are the enforcement agencies in the US really so pitifully clumsy and inefficient ? And that matter of honeymooning with a holiday package won in a raffle ... Even I, who has never done anything to be at threat from anyone, would know better than to go holidaying in an unknown place paid by an unknown company, especially without any proper checking !!! Could you please give this story a nice ending ? I just want to remember the sailing and the cute boys when all is told ...

As for the company that sent the raffle, it was mentioned that they did check. They couldn't find anything amiss, because similar packages had gone out to all sorts of people, and also, the company was owned by someone with no record and no known ( to the authorities - connection to Bridget. There was no way for them to find the connection, so they didn't.

Trevor and Shane are indeed at risk... but that's to be expected, given the daunting odds they face.

While I don't want to believe you'l knock off Trev and Sean, you left us believing.... As far as Skalla's comment, all police agencies at some time are clumsy and inefficient, but as already pointed out this is a work of fiction, well written with great research, but still fiction, and some is meant to keep us readers on the edge of our seat and coming back. Another great chapter....

Things are getting tense now! Gonzales has planned this carefully and very well. He hasn't left anything up in the air. I think you've got a trick up your sleeve on what's next.

    Gonzales has not underestimated Brigitte.

Does "2 weddings" at the same time say anything?

I'll wait till the next chapter to see if I'm right.

    'Till Death do them Part

Yes, the chapter should post on schedule, and as always, it will be cliffhanger-free.

    Countdown to Doomsday

Things are indeed grim for Trevor and Shane... Bridget grows ever stronger by the day, and the constant running is taking its toll on them. And yep, even if Bridget dies, the cartel still wants them dead. She's part of the puzzle they need to solve, but not all of it, and they have precious little time remaining.

Things don't bode well for Trevor and Shane, do they? With almost no place to

escape from Bridget, the best hope would be to discredit and expose her to the

cartel, and have the guys kill her. Maybe even then the cartel wouldn't cancel the

    hit. What a mess!

I like the geographic and historical references throughout this story, and have been

looking things up as they appear. Since the story takes place in such remote places,

it's been great to visit them vicariously, knowing I'll never see them first hand.

As evil as she is, you have to admire Bridget's skills as a tactician. She is an evil genius.

Since she knows Trevor and Shane are in Guantanamo, will she dare attack there?
