Xaxazana, EC, South Africa. isiXhosa, the language of most inhabitants of the Eastern Cape, uses the letter X a lot. It sounds like a click, that you make on the side of your mouth with your tongue and cheek.

April 21, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will I opened the door to find my father there with Jake behind him, as if he were Jake’s human shield. “Welcome home,” Dad said, and embraced me warmly. I thought it was nice that he’d taken off his tie and shed his jacket, as if to announce that he was no longer Mr. Corporate America. “I missed you,” I said warmly. Dad looked at Travis, then at Jake, then back at Travis, pretty much just like I had, then finally kicked h

July 12, 1801 Brentwood, UK Granger peeked into the drawing room and saw his father sitting on a chair while his mother relaxed on a chaise, both of them looking quite relaxed as they chatted away. He had invited his parents to come spend a week with him here at Brentwood, and it had turned out to be a good decision. His father had been working with William, Matheus, and Michael, training the three of them on the manners, etiquette, and physical gestures like bowing they woul

Hey, all! A mild 9C here.

Poor Ian. It’s hard to have so many expectations at just five years of age. He may have the smarts, but he doesn’t have the maturity yet, as witnessed b6 his meltdown about learning the technicalities of the language of music. I don’t quite get the determination to make Gaea like Earth II. Things had gone so wrong there, I would think they would want a completely fresh start. Name your cities and locations after places on Earth I. That’s fine. But make a break and make a new society with more care for each other and the world on which you are now living!

My eyes are very tired this morning; for a second I read that as "kilo more cock". Koroop, in Victoria (VIC), Australia, population 80 in the 2016 census.

As a kid in the 70s 80s. I loved Xanadu... Still do. I always saw Gene Kelly in it and thought, what a way to go out!? Love the story...

Like burgundy red gladiolus
ReaderPaul commented on AC Benus's story chapter in Like burgundy red gladiolus
Wow. Heavy, as we used to say in the 70s and 80s. -
How come you cringe? The formal name for the system is Global Positioning System, thus GPS. Satnav is a rather colloquial name for GPS, and seems to be limited to the UK only. I've not heard it called satnav outside the UK. And it’s wrong. GPS is the system of satellites made by the US, but around the world the Chinese, Russians, and Europeans deployed BDS, GLONASS, and Galileo respectively. Referring to any of them by their name for the use of navigation in a car is inaccurate. It is a navigation system or satellite navigation system that utilizes the satellites in the sky to work, but the thing in your car is not the satellite itself. It’s like calling a cell phone a cell tower. Satnav refers to the thing in your car, not the thing in the sky, and I appreciate that hugely. 😂

mustang - Word of the Day - Wed Apr 10, 2024
CarlHoliday commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
The original Mustang Ranch Brothel was the first licensed brothel in Nevada when it opened in 1971. This led to the opening of brothels in 10 of the 17 counties in the state. Mustang Ranch was surrendered to the federal government in 1999 when the owner was convicted for tax fraud, racketeering, and other crimes. The ranch was auctioned off by the government on eBay for $145,100 and opened five miles east at Exit 28 on Interstate 80 where it continues to operate. -
Yeah, most of the originals have died. The inspiration for the story happened late 80’s or early 90’s. 3 Dog Night, the dance troupe, and the attraction to a dancer were real. The rest of it, not so much. I still have one of the songs they used on my playlist.

@Zuri, dude you get serious props! I spent 10 minutes looking through previous chapters and googling Osiris. You took it over the top! I also loved Stargate. @drown, I'll take 80% this early in a mystery every day!

Of course Just remember that B1 wears blue pajamas with white stripes where as B2 wears white pajamas with blue stripes

Wow, Andre's story brought back many memories for me. I am 80 now. But, at about 11, I had a similar experience. I am glad that the story had a positive ending for Andre. TW

I've been blasting this music on repeat for a while now. Gotta love the 80s.

Larry, Harry, and Barry were the names of the triplets in an episode of the 80's cartoon Beverly Hills Teens.

Remijay, I would like to say how great the story was and hopefully will continue later. I can understand Xavier's jealousy because I was that way before. I am 80 now and I would have loved to find "that someone" but all I got was what Aiden got from his previous hookups. Oh well, maybe in my next life. Thanks for a great story again.

Aquariusguy, I just finished the story "Finding Love". It was a great story and I do believe in the story even with the ghost and other paranormal happenings. Thank you for taking the time to write these stories. This goes for all the writers of "gayauthors.org. With out you, we could stay up until way later than an 80 yr old should. But, I love it. Thanks again. TW

I am confused as an 80 yr old should be. How many chapters are in II.

April 21, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will The big Escalade limo drove up the stately drive and stopped at the porte cochère to deposit its passengers. I got out and smiled, happy to be home, while Travis followed me, pausing to stare at this massive house. “This place is like the Buck Mansion,” he said. My first reaction was to point out that Escorial was way nicer than the Buck Mansion, but I managed to stop myself from doing that and thus sparking an argument over

Mrsgnomie, Ok, I am 80 years old and sitting here crying my eyes out because someone got a ring. Kyan was so up and down and Perry was so steadfast, but there were a few times that I thought it would be over. I am sorry for responding so late, but I just finished the story. Thank you so very much for making a lonely old man burst into tears. It felt good. TW

Well in all fairness, I'm not sure if it's from older comics or not, but it was a line from that old Incredible Hulk tv show from the 80s. That was a recurring line from that I believe.
