  1. July 12, 1801 Brentwood, UK Granger peeked into the drawing room and saw his father sitting on a chair while his mother relaxed on a chaise, both of them looking quite relaxed as they chatted away. He had invited his parents to come spend a week with him here at Brentwood, and it had turned out to be a good decision. His father had been working with William, Matheus, and Michael, training the three of them on the manners, etiquette, and physical gestures like bowing they woul

    Chapter 94

April 21, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will The big Escalade limo drove up the stately drive and stopped at the porte cochère to deposit its passengers. I got out and smiled, happy to be home, while Travis followed me, pausing to stare at this massive house. “This place is like the Buck Mansion,” he said. My first reaction was to point out that Escorial was way nicer than the Buck Mansion, but I managed to stop myself from doing that and thus sparking an argument over

    Chapter 97

April 24, 2004 The Beverly Hills Hotel Beverly Hills, CA Will “Waves rocked today!” Travis said, and high fived me. We’d gotten down here in time to spend a couple of hours in the water and still make it to the hotel and get ready for the big party tonight. We were sitting in Grand and Stef’s suite, enjoying some pre-dinner cocktails. “Makes me remember what I liked best about living down here,” Dad said. He impulsively looked down at his Blackberry and freaked out.

Poor Ian. It’s hard to have so many expectations at just five years of age. He may have the smarts, but he doesn’t have the maturity yet, as witnessed b6 his meltdown about learning the technicalities of the language of music. I don’t quite get the determination to make Gaea like Earth II. Things had gone so wrong there, I would think they would want a completely fresh start. Name your cities and locations after places on Earth I. That’s fine. But make a break and make a new society with more care for each other and the world on which you are now living!
  5. Wow. Heavy, as we used to say in the 70s and 80s.
  6. I've been blasting this music on repeat for a while now. Gotta love the 80s.
  7. Ticklishboy30

    Chapter 2

Larry, Harry, and Barry were the names of the triplets in an episode of the 80's cartoon Beverly Hills Teens.
  8. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 98

April 24, 2004 The Beverly Hills Hotel Beverly Hills, CA Will It was hard to imagine a bigger bombshell could be dropped into this group: Travis’s grandfather, Tom Buck, was his father, not his grandfather. How totally messed up was that? He’d been sleeping with his daughter-in-law! I tried to conjure up a mental picture of him, curious as to whether he looked like Travis or Jake, but he’d always had a beard, and that seemed to dominate my memory of him. I looked over at
  9. Lee Wilson

    Prologue

Yeah, most of the originals have died. The inspiration for the story happened late 80’s or early 90’s. 3 Dog Night, the dance troupe, and the attraction to a dancer were real. The rest of it, not so much. I still have one of the songs they used on my playlist.
  10. I am confused as an 80 yr old should be. How many chapters are in II.
  11. Well in all fairness, I'm not sure if it's from older comics or not, but it was a line from that old Incredible Hulk tv show from the 80s. That was a recurring line from that I believe.
  12. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 99

April 25, 2004 The Pacific Coast Highway Pacific Palisades, CA Will “Nice that traffic is light,” Travis said. “I’m usually fighting it going the other way.” It was 8:00 in the morning, and we were heading to Malibu so Travis and I could get situated, and so we could surf. “That’s because it’s Sunday, dipshit,” I said, giving him crap. “Whatever,” he said, which made Stef smirk because he’d said it just like I did. “I am wondering how you are planning t

    -Atlanta Airport

    28.-Atlanta-Airport.jpg

While most air traffic communications around the world use the NATO phonetic alphabet (alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, etc.), Atlanta doesn’t. Taxiways, Gates, and others including a ‘D’ are referred to as ‘Dixie’, so as not to cause confusion with Delta Air Lines. Atlanta is Delta’s hub.

  15. Oh Clo The French eat approximately 80 million frogs every year12. By the 1600s, frog legs were one of the most popular meals in the country and served in restaurants all over Paris1. Today, the British have referred to the French as “frogs”2
  16. Bill W

    Spiders

Of course it would be from Australia. Isn't that where 80% of the spider's live? At least 80% of the poisonous spiders.
  17. Maybe you should ask your wolf …? 🤔😉 I have. I am! Regularly. Grey saw a badly burned (think third to fourth degree burns with 80% TBSA) Dave, and he witnessed Clara unable to help him with her Druidic powers. You wouldn't survive being burned to a crisp. There was no way out. The fact that he healed when they touched each other is another thing. One that the author might have to explore to explain.
  18. We have a grocery phone app that is nice to use -- except SP forgets about it 80% of the time.
  19. The community of Horsefly (estab. 1859) lies on the shore of the Horsefly River in the Cariboo Country of Central British Columbia, Canada. The Horsefly River does not directly drain the waters of Horsefly Lake where you can do outdoorsy activities at Horsefly Lake Provincial Park. The Horsefly River drains into Quesnel (don't pronounce the "s") Lake at Horsefly Bay. Oh, and between Horsefly Lake and the upper course of Horsefly River there is Horsefly Mountain. To get to all those Horseflies, leave the Trans-Canada Highway in Cache Creek on BC Highway 97. In 150 Mile House, leave Highway 97 on Likely Road, and then Horsefly Road. If you're planning on visiting all those Horseflies, I recommend packing OFF! Insect Repellant in your luggage.
  20. Yeah.. I agree. When I used to take my mom to breakfast on Sundays she always wanted a chocolate muffin. She'd be bummed when they were out. It was cake. Chocolate cake, pure and simple but if a 80-something year old lady wants chocolate cake for breakfast ... she gets cake. Let's call it a muffin and let her be. Lol
  21. Sad, but I know that this happened to more than a few friends of mine back in the 70's and 80's and probably still does today. Unfortunately, not all of them manage so well. Really great start, I know I am coming in late. I can't wait to see what happens.
  22. BoyLove

    Chapter 1

I can understand a lot of what Phil is feeling, everything being pretty much gone and just memories left. I'm 55, soon to be 56. But I feel like I am in the same position as Phil thinking that only memories are left. I'm part of a group at my local LGBTQ center called "Rainbow Pioneers. A group for people 50 and older. Sometimes I feel like a child compared to many of them. A lot are in their 70's and 80's. But it is interesting when they tell stories about the 60's and 70's. About how things were then.
  23. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but... American Horror Story: NYC was very well done, and hit on so many gay themes that (while taking place in the 80s and being a foreshadow of AIDS) still very much resonate. The last episode left me absolutely terrified and sad. I talked to a lot of friends about it, and what we all found so unsettling was realizing the fact that all the tragedy in the last few episodes would have been us had we come of age in the 80s. It was only by pure chance that we were born when we were, because if we hadn't then all of us would be going into a coffin with them. Something from Hollywood hasn't made me feel that kind of way in a long, long time.
  24. Aww, is this you as a kid back in the 80s? This gif has a typo. It should clearly say, "a lack of lies."
