Coming out, finding and recognizing one's true self, can be both a painful process and a rewarding quest.

A decade after drifting apart, four millennial friends who once bonded online reunite at a secluded cabin, answering an invitation from the friend who always promised they would one day meet. As old memories resurface and new ones take shape, one question lingers.

My entry for the 2025 Poetry Anthology - Diversity! Quite possibly a topic we can all relate to.

Some poetic offerings based on the anthology theme of "Diversity". The Haiku included here are a departure from the usual and expected subject of nature, more reflective of inner turmoil.

A straight friend, an artist who the narrator has known since college, compliments him on the definition of his muscles. The narrator has always considered the straight friend very attractive, The narrator is concerned his friend is not aware of his own good looks and is not keeping himself fit as they grow older. The narrator has a strategy for helping his friend.

“Taking Teddy Home” follows Carter on a cross-Canada journey to fulfill a promise to his late husband, Teddy. Along the way, memories of their love, struggles, and dreams unfold. A chance encounter with a kind stranger in Newfoundland brings Carter closer to letting go, as he prepares to scatter Teddy’s ashes in the Atlantic—a final act of love and closure.
