Short stories are definitely not my strong suit, and this attempt soon became a continuous story inspired by the challenge of First Line prompts.
Constructive criticism and kind encouragement are more than welcome.

Grant is a man new to his work and to the East Coast of the United States. He has been given every opportunity and chance, and has capitalized on that as he starts his new life. Troy has lost almost everything, and his life over the last sixteen months has been nothing but a struggle.

A burned journal sends them on a collision course.

This is their story.

This is the story of two high-schoolers in the mid-70s growing closer and learning about life and love in rural Ohio. All songs and key phrases are linked to a video.

I'm Ian Wright I lost heart ten years ago, when my James died from illness. We were only 25 years old. I was devastated, sinking into a crushing depression for many years. It started off as a simple, innocent friendship between two college students brought together by an English project. Noah is shy, quiet and nerdy, while Jordan is the exact opposite, athletic, social and outgoing. A series of events, a break up, an unexpected injury, bring the two closer together. After a huge row between his twin brother and their father, Russell’s mother sends him off to stay with her cousin in Europe, with no explanation. Reluctantly, the shy nineteen-year-old faces the issues which have kept him in his brother’s shadow for the past five years. It’s a twisted path of denial, anguish and unexpected joy, as Russell struggles to deal with long buried emotions and hopes.
