A story about a returning veteran

Samuel is a quiet guy just barely living his life when a massive traffic jam turns into a huge accident. As he blacks out he makes a wish that reflects his biggest regret in life. When he wakes up, he vows to himself he's going to change his outlook on life till he looks around a strange room and sees a little girl copying his every move.

WAR IS IN THE HEARTS OF MEN (Amorous Things, Library of Horror Press 2010) tells the story of two young men: one, a grocery store clerk; the other: a soon-to-be-armed-service member. In the midst of John's preparation to join the military, his partner, Markus, is almost unable to function, as his partner's past comes flooding back like a tidal wave approaching a shore in the form of words from a dead man's lips.

The year is 2318, and Mankind has gone to the stars leaving a dying Earth. Mankind's descendants now populate the Terran Federation, a group of 200 worlds held together by uneasy bonds. A veneer of calm hides tensions; Man may have left Earth but he has brought most of its problems with him to the stars. The veneer of calm is about to be shattered though, and one man finds himself reluctantly thrown into the vortex, his fate and the Federation's linked.

Gabriel is a remote, successful man and Sahyl is a warm loving person but they create explosions between the sheets. Too bad Gabriel has something against falling in love, and too bad Sahyl can't seem to make himself stop. So Sahyl does the logical thing, he breaks it off before he can get too hurt.
