2025 Halloween Horror short story:

Jonah, an eighteen-year-old freshman, is invited to attend a fancy Halloween formal party at an old fraternity house by Griffin, a flirty upperclassman.

This is another of my stories from 2014. I decided to post it here because it's remained one of my faves, despite its flawed grammar.

When a routine news bulletin reveals that a long-lost artefact has just been dug up beneath a future Tesco in Croydon, he realizes the wait might finally be over. A road trip across England of modern-day Arthurian proportions ensues as a mythical wizard, and a cocky young chav race against modern Templars, a meddling MI5, so a living legend can finally return home.

A despairing novelist encounters a mystery.

After the successful assassination of his older brother, Xavier, the party boy deviant, is forced to take over ruling as Prince of The Underworld. It's all fun and games until the welcome party with his subjects is ruined by a pissed off Demigod coming to collect on a promise his dear, dead brother stupidly made. Xavier has no intention of making good on the deal, especially when he finds out it involves him. But when the Prince of the Underworld takes on a Demigod, they find their murderous blood-thirst isn't that far from lust, and until they can break the spell keeping them both invincible, they might as well enjoy themselves.

Outside the human world there are two kingdoms, Phaenomenon and Damp Cook, they both perform plays to giants who take their stories from these kingdoms and pass them onto certain humans, inspiring the creation of ‘fairy-tales’. Both kingdoms have strict training camps, Phaenomenon designing perfect good guys, handsome princes and princesses and Damp Cook designing and training up the best bad guys, evil wizards and witches. There is always a good guy, and there is always a bad guy. But between these kingdoms is a hidden garden, where a young prince and young wizard accidentally meet, and it all changes from there.

Crowe's life is forever changed when an angel delivers him an impossible task. During his travels through the Kenoma, Crowe encounters a lycan, an eight-foot-tall wolfman. Separated by language and culture, Crowe cannot deny he shares a powerful connection with the barbarian. Bound by mystical forces, their journey leads them to the small village of Timberford, a town that is gripped by a dark evil. Thus, Crowe must complete his first task. If he is to survive his first task and free the town from its dark curse, Crowe must face his own dark past and trust his new furry companion. But how can you trust someone you can't understand?
