A spinoff of the "Gone From Daylight" vampire series (Reading the original is not necessary), this tale takes place in the old West. Deacon Porter is baffled by the recent murders in his small town. With his father being the Sherriff, it's up to him to solve the mystery of what's happening. However, when Deacon meets a teen boy like himself in the darkness, he experiences feelings that he never knew that he had before. But is this beautiful stranger the boy of Deacon's dreams? Or is it possible that he may be the monster that his father is hunting in the shadows of night?

The year is 1987, and an aging Tokyo crime boss with a shady past has called on a very old friend for help with what he believes to be a dire situation. There is only one hope for the future in his mind, and the sharing of this secret comes at a heavy price. But is he preventing an apocalyptic clash between the humans who walk in daylight and the vampires who live in darkness? Or is he igniting a conflict that will ultimately end in the anihilation of both? Can this close vampire contact from his past save that which he values most?

This "Gone From Daylight" spinoff tells the story of a former Hunter and associate of the vampire Elders who simply wanted to disappear and get away from the sinister plans that his particular agency had in store for those in his area. But when a family tragedy brings him back home...the very people that he was hiding from come to find him once again. However, they may be in for more than they bargained for this time. The hunter known as 'Flatline' isn't going back to their agenda without a fight!
