Timmy's Journal - 50. Two Poems for Your Consideration

There are things in this world that make me think I shouldn't be here.

There is evil in the world that makes me not want to be here sometimes. There are mistakes that are made and people who don't think what their acid tongues can do to others.

Yet there is so much to celebrate and love, too. Though at the moment I don't see much of it. Just a couple of poems...

#1

Why don’t we ever learn?

Are we wired to ignore lessons of the past?

Over and over generations repeat,

The sins of their fathers

We are poets and scholars and lovers

Murderers, haters and detractors

Selfish above all life on our Earth

What will survive once we’ve destroyed ourselves?

#2

I am gentle and loving, forgiving

I’ll give of myself, offer my hand

Until you bite that which cares

Then in my wake I will leave you

Though I will mourn that loss

But I will open my door,

should you have a change of heart

And I will bid you welcome.

Thanks for reading ...

I really admire how much feeling you put into your writing. It's like a glimpse into your heart and soul, and the reader feels privileged to have that sacred view. You bring a sense of light and peace in your work, and I'm always thankful for you sharing it with us. Take time to acknowledge the light inside, and see how much joy you bring to the world simply by being you.

I wish I could say something to make you feel better and see the good in yourself that the rest of us see. In the meantime here's a big :kiss:

Thanks Val... really just disparaging about the world, not myself so much ... but I'll take the hugs anytime.

Thanks for reading. many hugs and .. hope your Nanowrimo is going well!!

What will survive once we’ve destroyed ourselves? That line just took my breath away, for it speaks to the everyday bits of destruction for which we are all responsible. Poem number two made me tremble - to be in the presence of a such a kind and forgiving heart as yours. Will the heart in #2 be able to forgive the destroyer - me, us - in #1? Again, I tremble. Thanks for each of these.

Thank you. Poetry, is really me, what i see and feel. Unless I was doing a Prompt. It's the best way for me to tell you how I feel. I wish people would embrace poetry more. It's really alive, and of today not just found in musty old books. Sorry .. blathering. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. It's so nice to hear what people think, what the poem made them feel.

Thanks again,

Parker you're just as forgiving as me, lots of people are. But I wonder if we sometimes wonder why. Yes, I'd forgive the destroyer their stupidity if they really had a change of heart. Why not?

hugs xoox Thanks for your comments and for reading.

Great explorations and comments on the human condition, tim. I agree some people are ignorant of how much they can hurt someone, not just with what they say or do, but also by what they don't say or do... I think we are in the same mind frame today xo Gary

Thanks Gary .. maybe we are. Some days.. I really wonder. Thanks for your great comments.

Appreciate you reading and your review.

#1 My thoughts in your words. How many time can we go down the same road until we come back reformed? Or are gone entirely.

#2 You're generous, but I thought you would.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Adi. I think truly there are some people who have figured it out, but we are mired in the mud and mess made by the herd in front of us.

I try to be generous. I learned it. If I wasn't I'd be divorced by now.

Thanks Adi. appreciate you reading these and your thoughts.
