The Kiss of the Vampire - 12. Chapter 12

Kiss of the Vampire

Paris

When night fell, the village was once again shrouded in darkness, the only light coming from the slivers of moonlight filtering through the trees. Nestled within the velvet-lined interior of the coffin, Alexei began to stir. The transformation had taken its toll, and as he awoke for the first time as a vampire, he felt a strange mix of disorientation and newfound strength.

Alexei’s senses were heightened, every sound and scent amplified, and he could feel the cool touch of the night air on his skin. He turned his head slightly and realized he was not alone. Beside him, Constantine lay in a peaceful slumber. Alexei reached out, gently shaking him awake.

Constantine,” he whispered, his voice a soft tremor, “am I dead?”

Constantine awoke, his eyes meeting Alexei’s with a tenderness that spoke of centuries of wisdom and love. He leaned in, kissing Alexei’s lips softly before answering. “No, my loved one,” he said, his voice a soothing balm. “You are not dead. You are undead, and you are my treasure. How are you feeling?”

Alexei had to ponder that question for a moment. He did feel different. There was a new sense of power coursing through his veins, a strength he had never known before. His thoughts were clearer, his emotions more intense. And as he looked at Constantine, he realized that his feelings for him had deepened profoundly.

“I feel... strong,” Alexei replied, his voice filled with wonder. “And my feelings for you, Constantine—they are so profound. I love you, more than words can say. I have always admired you, but now... it is as if my love for you has intensified.”

Constantine smiled, his eyes reflecting the same depth of emotion. “I am glad to hear that, Alexei,” he said softly. “Your transformation is complete, and we are bound together now, for eternity. Our love will be our guiding light, our anchor in this new life.”

As Alexei looked at Constantine, he felt a sense of awe. Constantine’s features were strikingly handsome, his eyes filled with a wisdom that seemed to encompass all of time. His lips, so kissable and inviting, were a constant reminder of the deep bond they shared.

The realization of his new existence began to settle in, and Alexei found comfort in Constantine’s presence. He knew that with Constantine by his side, he could navigate this new life with confidence and purpose. Together, they would explore the world, face its challenges, and experience its wonders.

Constantine took Alexei’s hand, their fingers entwining. “Come, my love,” he said. “Let us embrace this night, and the many nights to come. Our journey is just beginning, and we will face it together, as one.”

With those words, they emerged from the coffin, stepping into the night with a newfound sense of purpose. The village lay quiet and still around them, the stars above guiding their path. Alexei felt a surge of excitement, knowing that this was just the beginning of a life filled with endless possibilities.

The night stretched on, a canvas of endless possibilities as Constantine and Alexei walked hand in hand through the village. Their bond was a beacon of strength and inspiration, the foundation upon which they would build their immortal lives. Each step they took together was filled with the promise of discovery and the thrill of the unknown.

As they embarked on their journey, Constantine knew that it was time to teach Alexei the ways of their new existence. Feeding was a necessary part of their life, but it had to be done with care and respect. Constantine turned to Alexei; his voice gentle yet firm. "We need to feed," he began. "I will teach you the little drink. There is no reason to kill; we just take enough to sate our hunger. This is how we live."

With that, he led Alexei deeper into the village, the shadows of the night cloaking them in secrecy. They moved silently, their footsteps barely making a sound as they approached the heart of the village. Constantine's senses were heightened, searching for the perfect opportunity to teach Alexei.

They came across a lone man, walking slowly along the deserted street. Constantine signaled Alexei to watch closely. He approached the man, his eyes locking onto his with an intense gaze. The man seemed to fall into a trance, his will bending under the power of Constantine's charm.

"Bare your neck," Constantine commanded, his voice smooth and authoritative. The man obediently tilted his head, exposing his neck. Constantine turned to Alexei; his eyes filled with encouragement. "Now, Alexei, bite him in the neck. When I say stop, you must stop."

Alexei hesitated for only a moment before stepping forward. His instincts took over, and he bit down gently on the man's neck. The taste of the blood was rich and warm, a sensation unlike anything he had ever experienced. He could feel the life force flowing into him, filling him with strength and vitality.

Constantine watched closely, ensuring that Alexei did not take too much. "Stop," he instructed after a few moments. Alexei, feeling a strange sense of control and satisfaction, withdrew his fangs and stepped back.

Constantine nodded approvingly. "Well done, Alexei. Remember to lick the wound which will make it heal quickly. You have learned the first lesson of our kind. We feed to survive, but we do not kill unless necessary. And if we do we must hide the kill. This is how we maintain balance."

Alexei felt a sense of accomplishment, his confidence growing with each passing moment. He knew that with Constantine's guidance, he would master the ways of the vampire life.

They continued through the village, finding another person to feed on, each time Alexei gaining more control and understanding of his new abilities. When they were done, they returned to the coach, their hunger sated and their bond stronger than ever.

As they settled back into the coach, Constantine looked at Alexei with pride. "You did well tonight, my love," he said. "Together, we will face the challenges of our new life and find joy in each other's company."

Alexei smiled, feeling a deep sense of love and gratitude for Constantine. "Thank you," he replied. "I feel stronger and more connected to you than ever. I am ready for whatever the future holds."

And so, under the cover of night, Constantine and Alexei continued their journey, their hearts intertwined, and their spirits uplifted. They knew that their love would be the guiding light in their immortal lives, a source of strength and inspiration that would carry them through the ages.

High in the mountains, where the air was crisp and the snow-capped peaks glistened under the moonlight, the sense of seclusion and tranquility was palpable. The rocky terrain and towering pines created a breathtaking backdrop for the introduction that was about to unfold.

Constantine led Alexei through the narrow, winding paths of the mountain village. The villagers, hardy and resilient, went about their nightly routines, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of lanterns. The village, perched on the edge of a cliff, seemed like a sanctuary from the rest of the world.

As they reached a clearing, the imposing figures of Vladimir and Thomas emerged from the shadows, having returned from their evening feeding. Their presence was powerful, their bond unspoken but evident in their every movement.

High in the mountains, where the air was crisp and the stars seemed within arm's reach, the moonlight illuminated a small, secluded village. Nestled among the towering peaks, the village was a haven of tranquility and beauty, its thatched roofs and cobblestone paths creating a picturesque scene. The villagers, accustomed to their secluded life, moved about with an air of quiet confidence, their faces reflecting a blend of curiosity and acceptance as they observed the newcomers.

Constantine, his voice filled with pride and excitement, turned to Alexei. "Alexei, this is Vladimir, my Master," he said, gesturing toward the commanding figure of Vladimir. The moonlight caught the sharp angles of Vladimir's face, giving him an almost ethereal glow. "And this is Thomas, his companion. They are deeply in love, just like us. And this gentleman is Ion," he added, indicating the tall figure standing nearby.

Vladimir stepped forward, his eyes reflecting the majesty of the mountains around them. "Alexei, I am so glad to know you!" he said warmly, his voice resonating with sincerity. "Constantine did not lie about your beauty; you are indeed very handsome." He took Alexei's hand and kissed it gently, a gesture of respect and admiration that carried the weight of centuries.

Thomas, standing beside Vladimir, smiled warmly. "He is everything that Constantine said and more," he agreed, his voice echoing softly in the still night air. He leaned in and kissed Alexei on the cheek, a gesture that made Constantine's heart swell with happiness.

Ion, observing the introductions with a serene expression, nodded approvingly. "Welcome, Alexei," he said, his tone calm and kind. "You are among friends here."

With the introductions complete, everyone boarded the coach, a grand vehicle pulled by sleek, black horses. The journey down the mountain path was a blend of silence and the rhythmic clatter of hooves against the rocky terrain. The coach moved with an almost supernatural grace, guided by Ion's skilled hands.

As they traveled, Vladimir began outlining their plans. "Here are my plans for Vienna. We will be staying for three days, and during this time, I will be purchasing suits for Ion to wear when he deals with the humans in Paris. He is so adept at blending in with them—remind me to give him a raise," Vladimir said with a smile.

The journey continued, the landscape shifting from rugged mountains to rolling hills, each mile bringing them closer to the vibrant city of Vienna. As dawn approached, the first light of day cast a golden hue over the horizon, signaling their arrival.

Vienna, with its grand architecture and bustling streets, was a stark contrast to the tranquil mountain village. The city was alive with energy, its residents going about their daily lives with a sense of purpose and vitality. The coach made its way through the narrow streets, eventually stopping in front of an opulent hotel that would serve as their home for the next few days.

The group disembarked, their presence drawing curious glances from passersby. Inside the hotel, the décor was lavish, with crystal chandeliers and plush furnishings creating an atmosphere of elegance and luxury. They settled into their rooms, each finding a moment of solace before the activities of the day began.

Vladimir, true to his word, took Ion to several of Vienna's finest tailors, selecting suits that would help him blend seamlessly into Parisian society. The process was meticulous, each garment chosen with care and precision. Ion, grateful for Vladimir's attention to detail, marveled at the transformation as he donned the finely crafted suits.

Meanwhile, Constantine and Alexei explored the city, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment. They visited historic landmarks, sampled local delicacies the handsome men of Vienna Alexei found that he had a taste for blond men, and immersed themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Vienna. The city's charm and vibrancy offered a welcome respite from their recent trials, and they cherished the time spent together.

Evenings were spent in lively conversation, the group gathered around a table, sharing stories and laughter. The bonds between them deepened, their shared experiences forging a connection that transcended time and place. Each night, as the city lights twinkled outside their windows, they found solace in each other's company.

As their time in Vienna drew to a close, they prepared for the next leg of their journey. The suits were packed carefully, and the group reflected on their experiences, grateful for the moments of joy and camaraderie they had shared. The road ahead was uncertain, but they faced it with renewed strength and unity.

With the coach once again ready, they set off, the mountains of their home fading into the distance. Together, they would navigate the challenges ahead, their bond an unbreakable force. The journey was far from over, but with love, loyalty, and friendship, they were prepared to face whatever lay ahead.

Leaving Vienna behind, the group embarked on their journey with renewed energy. The coach, laden with their belongings and Ion's new suits, moved swiftly through the countryside. The landscape shifted from the vibrant cityscapes to rolling hills and dense forests, each mile bringing them closer to their next destination.

Their path took them through small villages and across scenic rivers, the sights and sounds of the journey offering a constant stream of distractions. Vladimir and Thomas often rode beside the coach, their senses attuned to the subtle shifts in the environment. They remained vigilant, always aware of the potential dangers that lay ahead.

As they traveled, the conversations within the coach ranged from light-hearted banter to deep, philosophical discussions. Alexei, ever curious, found himself absorbing the wisdom and experiences of his companions. Constantine, with his unwavering loyalty, provided a steady source of support and encouragement.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape, they arrived at a secluded inn nestled at the edge of a dense forest. The inn, with its rustic charm and welcoming atmosphere, offered a brief respite from the rigors of travel. The innkeeper, a stout man with a jovial demeanor, welcomed them warmly and showed them to their rooms.

After settling in, the group gathered in the inn's cozy common room, where a crackling fire provided warmth and comfort. The innkeeper brought them a local ale, and they spent the evening recounting tales of their past adventures. The camaraderie between them was palpable, their bonds growing stronger with each shared experience.

Vladimir, always the strategist, took the opportunity to discuss their plans for Paris. "We must be cautious," he began, his tone serious. "Paris is a city of intrigue and danger. Ion, you will need to use your skills to navigate the complexities of human society. The suits you acquired in Vienna will serve you well."

Ion nodded; his expression thoughtful. "I understand, Vladimir. I will do whatever is necessary to ensure our success."

Thomas, ever the voice of reason, added, "We must also be prepared for the unexpected. The city holds many secrets, and we must be vigilant at all times."

Alexei, still adapting to the nuances of their world, listened intently. He admired the way his companions worked together, their unity a testament to their shared purpose. He felt a deep sense of gratitude for being part of this extraordinary group.

The night wore on, and as the fire burned low, they retired to their rooms, each lost in their thoughts. The journey ahead was fraught with challenges, but they faced it with a sense of determination and resilience.

The next evening, the group set off once again, their spirits high despite the unknowns that lay ahead. The journey to Paris was filled with anticipation, each day bringing them closer to their goal. As they neared the city, the landscape transformed into the bustling streets and grand architecture that Paris was known for.

Upon their arrival, they found themselves in a city alive with energy and possibility. The people of Paris moved with a sense of purpose, the streets filled with a blend of elegance and chaos. The group quickly settled into a discreet yet luxurious residence, their base of operations for the days to come.

Ion, dressed in his new suits, seamlessly blended into the fabric of Parisian society. He moved with ease among the humans, gathering information and forging alliances. His charm and wit proved invaluable, and he quickly earned the respect and trust of those he encountered.

Vladimir and Thomas focused on their own tasks, using their skills and connections to navigate the city's undercurrents. Constantine and Alexei, meanwhile, explored the city, their bond growing stronger with each shared adventure. They marveled at the beauty of Paris, its rich history and vibrant culture offering endless opportunities for discovery.

As the days passed, the group's efforts began to bear fruit. They uncovered vital information, forged powerful alliances, and positioned themselves strategically for the challenges ahead. The city, with all its complexities, had become a stage for their shared mission.

One evening, as they gathered in their residence to review their progress, Vladimir spoke with a sense of pride. "We have achieved much," he said, his voice filled with determination. "But there is still work to be done. We must remain focused and united. Together, we will succeed."

Thomas, Constantine, Ion, and Alexei nodded in agreement, their resolve unwavering. They knew that the journey was far from over, but with each other's support, they were prepared to face whatever the future held. The bonds they had forged, the love and loyalty they shared, would guide them through the trials ahead.

With a renewed sense of purpose, they continued their quest, each step bringing them closer to their goal. The city of Paris, with its intricate web of intrigue and opportunity, became the backdrop for their unfolding tale. And as they moved forward, they carried with them the strength of their unity and the promise of new beginnings.

Vladimir, ever the strategist, took Ion to a quiet place to talk. The moonlight bathed the cobblestone streets in a silvery glow, casting long shadows that danced with the flickering lanterns. "I need for you to find a top-notch realtor and bring him to Café de l'Étoile Mystérieuse on Rue de l'Abreuvoir," Vladimir instructed, his voice low and commanding. "Tell him money is no object."

Ion nodded, understanding the gravity of the task. He knew that securing a discreet and strategic location in Paris was crucial for their plans. With a determined look, he set off into the night, his mind already working on how to fulfill Vladimir's request.

Constantine smiled, a hint of mystery in his eyes. "I have secrets," he replied, his voice a whisper of promise. He started kissing Alexei ear and licking his neck which sent shivers down his spine. Constantine knew all the tricks he would use to carry Alexei to the heights of passion! He started removing Alexei's clothes pulling his shirt over his head exposing his nipples which he started sucking and licking them they were so perfect. Now Alexei was moaning and kissing Constantine back with heated passion.

As the night deepened, the group continued to weave their plans, each member playing their part with precision and dedication. Ion, true to his word, found a reputable realtor and brought him to the café. The meeting was conducted with the utmost discretion, and soon they had secured a prime location that would serve as their base of operations.

Constantine and Alexei, their bond strengthened by their intimate moment, moved through the city with a newfound sense of unity. They explored the hidden corners of Paris, uncovering secrets and forging alliances that would prove invaluable in the days to come.

Vladimir and Thomas, ever vigilant, kept a watchful eye on their surroundings. They knew that the city held many dangers, but they faced each challenge with unwavering resolve. Their love for each other was a source of strength, a beacon that guided them through the darkest of times.

As the days turned into weeks, their efforts began to bear fruit. They established a network of contacts, each one carefully chosen to aid in their mission. The café on Rue de l'Abreuvoir became a hub of activity, a place where plans were made, and strategies were devised.

One evening, as they gathered in the cozy interior of Café de l'Étoile Mystérieuse, Vladimir addressed the group. "We have come a long way," he said, his voice filled with pride. "But our journey is far from over. We must remain vigilant and united. Together, we will achieve our goals."

Thomas, Constantine, Ion, and Alexei nodded in agreement, their resolve unwavering. They knew that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but they were ready to face them together. The bonds they had forged, the love and loyalty they shared, would guide them through the trials ahead.

With a renewed sense of purpose, they continued their quest, each step bringing them closer to their ultimate goal. The city of Paris, with its intricate web of intrigue and opportunity, became the stage for their unfolding tale. And as they moved forward, they carried with them the strength of their unity and the promise of new beginnings.

And just exactly is/are the goal(s), it's a bit nebulous at this stage, to what end are they working?

“Apart from you two? I used to take myself off to a gay resort in Palm Springs. That sort of thing. Sometimes you’d meet guys who were interested…”

“But?”

“Difficult to tell if they wanted my bum, my connections or my cheque-book.”

“Shit.”

“You mentioned about other guys having no qualms about taking money.”

Russ pulled a face, “My interpersonal skills leave something to be desired when faced with a sexy guy”, he laughed. “So, sue me.”

Ion has proved his loyalty.  Vladimir is right to spend what it takes to make sure he can move seamlessly through whatever level of society he needs to interact with.

Constantine and Alexei are growing ever closer, and as the other's share their wisdom with him, Alexei grows into someone that will assist them with what they seek.

That said, what is it that they seek here in Paris?  What is the end goal?  How are they preparing for what they seek?
