This story starts out with a young man finding himself in the hospital after an accident.  I think we all know how difficult, and even traumatic that can be, but what we can never know is what goes through a patient's mind while he's there.  This story takes us on a unique and imaginative journey with the patient and gives us an interesting look at what he's experiencing as he recovers.  If you like stories that aren't the run of the mill variety, this one is for you.

Response from the author:

Thank you for leaving a review, Bill!!

I always enjoy reading your reviews. Makes me feel just a wee bit more sophisticated for pulling a story out of my overactive imagination.

This very different to anything I've read on GA.

It's sad, weird and hopeful at the same time.

You really need to read more as to why, you wake up in a strange hospital.

Thanks Secret Author for something different.

This one is classic Aaron, which, if you've read his other stories, rings true.

It's a nice bait and switch with vibes of Dallas and the dream season of Roseanne.

Interesting characters are sound sprinkled throughout,  so if you enjoy an alternate world of unusual characters,  then give this one a go.

Response from the author:

Thanks for reviewing, K!!

And much thanks for editing on short notice. You're an absolute gem, no matter what Gnomie says about you. 💜

Amazing story that made my brain work! Made me read and reread a few times, just to find all the associations and hidden messages! I've enjoyed finding elements of classics as Bulgakov, or some contemporary writers as Murakami and his fantasy worlds.

On a jurney as Dorothy to Oz, or Alice in Wonderland, @astone2292 is taking us for a ride through delusions of hurted brain, letting us hope there is way out of Altopia.

Response from the author:

Thanks for the review, Cane!!

I love writing a piece that forces a reader to think. The small, subtle notes and tidbits are slowly becoming a signature to me. I'm thrilled you enjoyed this little tale. 💜
