Not all wishes are selfish, Benji proves that in this story. Yes, he wants something for himself but, others also benefit from that wish in ways that couldn't imagine. This story has all of the ingredients to tug at your heartstrings. Not all of the best stories are long with multiple chapters, some are like this one, short, sweet and simple. Read and enjoy it, I did and recommend it.

Response from the author:

Thanks very much for your kind review, @Mancunian.  This story was one of the most fun to write in this series, and it included a lot of wishful thinking on my part.

Backwoods Boy always writes wonderful stories and he's done a touching one here. This one is at the top of the list for my favorites and he knows why. Sit back, read, and imagine what you'd do.

Two lonely boys meet in the beauty of the forest.  One is desperate facing a scary future, the other a kind, reflective observer of life.  Their meeting brings big changes to both their lives.  Both gain something that is very important to them.  I love the warm and happy feeling this story left with me.

Response from the author:

Thanks very much for your thoughtful review, @raven1.  Sometimes, it seems that others see even more than I do :)

What would you do if you saw someone in trouble, someone possibly thinking it would be so easy to take that fateful step...

A heartwarming tale of 14 year old Benji stepping up when none else would...
