What a sad sad story.  Hopefully it doesn't end sad but very happy for both Ian and Steven.

Thanks for writing.

Response from the author:

Thank you for your review. Yes, it was said, extremely so. But, I wanted to show how a boy who has a negative self-worth responds to an unpleasant prospect for the future. Unfortunately, he chose to attempt suicide. I've been there and I was saved, but my circumstances were much different than Ian's. He had people who were willing to rescue him and I wanted to show that you can come back from the edge if there is sufficient positive support.
