Yes, I've read that "This is a short story, part of a flash fiction collection inspired by images or prompts." But I struggle to see this as a story. For me, it's a story outline with lots of interesting ideas and angles to explore. I don't think less than 10.000 words would do all the ideas in this story justice. Why not pick out a specific scene or image from the outline and write a scene or short story about that? Better yet, write the full story. I'd like to read it.

Response from the author:

Hi Jack - Thank you for reading, and your feedback.

I've been putting some more thought into this and looking at how I could expand upon this more. Need to keep the wheels turning to figure out how to expand upon this (super) short story into something that is several thousand word.

I have been working on another story, which is a murder mystery but given it's the first time I've written something that complex and don't read a lot of similar stories I'll need to do a bit more reading to better understand how to write something that is compelling, and entertaining to read.

I really appreciate the time you took to write this and to read the story.

Regards,

R
