Give Me Tomorrow

   (3 reviews)

As the end of his first term in college draws to an end, Mason is struggling with a bit of disappointment. No boyfriends, no gay club at school.... He's begun to think maybe he just doesn't fit anywhere. On this night he ends up going to a party with the people he met on the electrical crew for the theater department - and perhaps college might work out after all.

It started before it was ready. It ended before it was over. yet it is like everything @Dabeagle has created: balanced, quirky and light-footed. The encounter was beautifully conceived and captured. We all had those moments at a college party, when a connection was made and an understanding reached. Whether we manage to follow our heart, our gut, or just our desires, and follow through on that connection, is another matter. No spoiler here so I'll just say the cadence of this narrative is probably as pleasing and intriguing as Skyler's English.

A delightful, well-written short tale. As has been noted, it would make an excellent introductory chapter to a much more developed and interesting yarn. It leaves the reader yearning for more, but fulfills its stated intention of being a one-off. The characters are fascinating, if a bit exaggerated, and the action builds to a climax that engenders smiles and hope.

Wonderful story, well written and perfectly captured the moment when you put yourself out there and it all works out.

Interesting characters all the way around, even the ones you only met for a moment seem so well done and just fit in perfectly.

Sit back with some Kool Aid and enjoy this great story about how you never know when you should put yourself forward, what surprising and important things and people might come forward.
