The Many Faces of Kai

   (6 reviews)
Genres: General Fiction
Sub-genres: Drama, Coming of Age

Lysander - Andy to most people - got saddled with a strange name from a mom who is a little...off. Looking forward to college where he can leave mom behind and find boys who actually like kissing boys is his biggest goal in life, for now.

Kai just wants to slide by in this new school. He's a senior and only has to get by unscathed for 10 months so he can move on and figure out...well, whatever comes next. He's had enough drama and heartache to swear off the human race.

Even if we don't want to change, we do. We wear different faces at different ages, different faces for different crowds.

As usual, the author has created some wonderful characters that are well rounded and grow in unexpected ways.  The writing and pacing were first rate as always.

An unusual history with the start of the story; but it gave the titular character more to overcome and deal with during the story.

This truly has someone for everyone.

A beautiful story of self-discovery and growth of a teen (Kai) who has moved to a new town with his father after the death of his mother. He meets Lysander through an unfortunate sharing of a recording posted on social media.  They develop a relationship that is marked by a very admirable maturity rather than simple lust.  A very refreshing and touching story that has a link to another story in the last chapter.

This is a story of two young men finding each other and learning that they are growing to share much in common.

From a misstep at first, you think they will be oil and water.Lys is clearly gay. Kai does not want to be gay and is going through therapy brought about his mother's actions and suicide. But they find after taking small steps respecting each others' boundaries that they are very compatible. Kai and Lys become open boyfriends. Kai's dad is rock solid behind him and them as a couple. They are going to moving in together as they go to college.

Life is looking were good for the both of them What a pleasing, happy story!

@Dabeagle has brought two wonderful teenage characters to the amazing gallery he has made writing his stories throughout the years! Kai, after tragedy and disappointment in his young life, has changed a town and a school, accompanied by his supportive father. Is he going to be able to trust another person again, is he going to find some friend, is he going to be able to love? When he meets Lysander, he will get all the answers and more, he will show his real face to the world.

Bravo @Dabeagle for another beautiful story!
