I'm really stoked (ha!) to rate & review this absolute gem. Man, it's so good...

10/10 absolutely recommend

As the second arc offering of what is, so far, a three-part fantasy/alternative earth series, seasoned fantasy readers might feel a certain reticence (due to second book syndrome, unfortunately, being *very* common to the genre) and while I, of course, empathise because been there, done that, got the tinfoil-covered sword-ish-shaped letter opener, I am also compelled to say in my best Nike voice, just do it.

Allow yourself to be transported back (if this is your first foray into the land of Sun & Shadow, stop! and go read part one - Awaken - immediately!) to where your friends (old and new) & enemies (mainly new but eh, there are a few cling-ons) await your arrival with bated breath, drawn swords and the refreshment of your choice.

You won't regret it.
