Nachtmerrie 2. Amsterdam Tales

   (3 reviews)

Coby and David were off to explore their first Halloween together in the city, when they ran into the spirit, Mooi. Mooi needed their help - something dark was afoot in the city - and it might only cost them their lives.
The second in a series of supernatural tales set in Amsterdam, involving myths and legends of that ancient city. A Halloween tale, a little early...

Summer has passed and fall begun, and the creep season is about to begin...

Het zou voor mij natuurlijk het gemakkelijkste zijn om mijn review in het Nederlands te schrijven maar aangezien Engels hier de voertaal is ......

In fact it was Ivor Slipper that brought me to your stories and I'm gratefull he did.

First please allow me some kind of "off topic" remarks. I was very pleased of you mentioning Sint Maarten as a counterpart to Halloween. I experience it as to be a loss with us tending to give up our own 'traditions' (e.g. Sint Maarten en Sinterklaas) in exchange for foreign customs.

Thank you very much for this beautiful story. Once again with your style of writing you managed to take me completely in into this 'Nightmare". Knowing a bit of Amsterdam it was easy to follow Coby and David on their ways and as you 'painted' it all so vividly I could nearly feel all of their love, fear, anxiety (and all other sentiments). Thanks again 😍

Hallo mijn vriend! Ja, laten we vriendelijk zijn voor onze andere vrienden hier en spreken in een taal die we allemaal delen. :)

I lived outside of Damsko until I was nine years of age. I recall the Sint Maarten traditions well, and also the traditions of Sint Nicolaas. I still include Sinterklaas (but where did these green Piets come from??) among my favorite visitors each December 5th! I was home last December for the festivities, and my parents were home for Koningsdag this past April. I have lived in America for over forty years now, and I love the country and the people. Still, I am rooted in Nederlands, and will never forget!

I am happy that you enjoyed the tale. It helps that you know the city and can follow as the boys move about. It was fun for me to write, too, as it was like visiting home again!

There are three stories in this series now, and I hope to write more. So rich is the history of Nederlands that there is certainly more to write about!

Bedankt voor het bezoeken! Come again any time.
