Goodbye by Ieshwar

We had always been together
You were there, by my side
You were the blood in my veins,
The fresh air in my chest,
You were my heart, my life

With you, I felt loved, happy, alive,
But not always
You also made me cry, suffer, yearn
Others said it was normal
But for me, it was unbearable.

Many times, I tried to leave you
I was tired, exhausted
But you dragged me back
You loved me a lot
More than I did

But now I have met Him,
I saw him the other day
I know you don’t like him
But I love him
More than I ever loved you

He’s not as bad as you think
With him, I feel secure
I know I will never be hurt
With him, I will never cry
I’ll sleep in peace in his arms

It’s time to part
Perhaps, I’m being unfaithful
But it’s for the better
I’m sorry.
