I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

A truly wonderful story of two runaways, each with their own story to tell and an older man who also has his own story in his past. Surely this should be a recipe for disaster, but no it isn't instead it's a story of second chances, compassion and love that describes a 'family' created out of choice not by blood. A great read and highly recommended.

Two very contrasting teenage, runaways, stumble across each other on a quiet stretch of road. There the similarities appear to end, as 15 year old Chris Atkin, an openly affable but naive youth, has spent many years planning his escape from his neglectful mother. 

In contrast, 14 year old Billy Lee is a rough speaking, abrasive and very distrusting loner; a streetwise kid, made so by years of abuse at an orphanage.

On the face of it, Billy and Chris are polar opposites with strong potential to repel eachother. But magnets have other properties too.

I can heartily recommend Ivor's story for its' character interaction and development and a storyline that deals with whatever good can come from being broken.

This is a fantastic tale about two boys, Chris Adkins and Billy. 

Chris decides to leave home after his fifteenth birthday, that's when he meets Billy who is running away. We follow our two boys as they go through many adventures together. This is a fantastic tale set in England in the 1960's.

A great read read, highly recommended.
