Astronomical Dusk - 3. Conversations

Conversations

At Dusk:

The sky is burning

Sun set; rays spurring.

You don't know me, and I don't know you

but we're here for good

Conversation.

Short, sweet

Meager – unsaid words they flee.

Unsure how they should be rolled,

Unsure how they should be strung,

Flung

into the wind and into the stars,

they fall all around us as we're here for

Silent conversation,

hooked with a laughter compilation,

Even though I don't know you, and you don't know me.

At Night:

The air is cold

Darkness fallen; the clock old.

You don't know me, and I'm in love with you,

so we're here alone for

Silent conversation.

Unspoken words on our tongues

Shiver, fumble,

Tumble

Falling up into the city lights that pollute our skies,

Fading into the sparks that map our universe tonight.

All is still and beautiful as we're here for good

Conversation.

Short, meek,

echoing loud and tactfully sweet,

Simply because you don't know me, and I'm in love with you.

em>A/N: The first verse was written when I was sixteen about my first love. After morganisagingekid wrote "Nightly Conversations" as a response to the first verse, I added a second in response to hers two years later.

Love is never easy and you make that clear. Each of your poems were different but you a firm grasp on words, meanings, and their interplay.Great job on all of them.

I really enjoyed the first two, but i loved this last one and how it changed from not knowing one another, to an unknown and unseen love. Wonderful job.

This one is my favorite. The feeling in the way you worded this was perfect to me. The vibe I got from this was kind of the beginning stage of an intense relationship, where nothing is spoken, yet somehow you both know what should have/could have been said. Perhaps just enjoying each others company simply out of loving one another. Really felt this. Thanks for sharing :D

Sometimes conversations can take place without words?
Yes, sometimes language can be communicated without a sound.

Thank you Patrick -- that was close to what I was aiming for -- unspoken love, thousands of unspoken things in the air. Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you Layla. I am glad you liked the last poem too -- it was one of my first (successful) ventures into poetry.

A very interesting approach. I quite enjoyed how the three poems do and don't relate together, because while they can stand on their own, they do somehow relate to one another. it's an aspect I rather liked. This is good work, especially the separation of verses in the third poem. three very distinctive, very nice poems. Great work Fishie!

Thank you so much for stopping by ComeWhatMay. I wrote all three poems at different stages of my life so that might be one of the reasons why they are standalone different poems, but they all have an overarching theme of darkness that I have always tried to extend. Thanks again for stopping by.
